First of all you don't have to be a genius, in fact you can be plain stupid, to figure out this movie was made by amateurs. I laughed, did I mentioned laughed? Even the "demon" was ... who the hecks knows. Lets just say, he needed more training in hell. I guess, if I were looking for a future classic, this would not be it. But making me laugh comes second to being super duper scary. Thumbs up, if you are in the mood for a not even remotely scary "horror movie".

Crude and laughable

Warning: Spoilers
THE BOOK OF SECRETS is an indie horror film. That's all I can really say about it, because the end result is so awful that it becomes completely indescribable. You know it's going to be very bad indeed when the opening text reads "A mysterious of gruesome tragedies have been taken place". The rest seems to be about a curse haunting the main characters; it's mostly a single-location enterprise, with stilted acting and no story. Crude and laughable, in other words.
