At 10 minutes, the music video for Lana del Rey's Ride is fairly long, but I think it is a decent achievement. Director is prolific music video director Anthony Mandler and the script is by LDR herself. Early on, the voice over parts did not convince me too much, but even there the visual side makes up for it and when we hear the artist singing almost halfway into the film, it is all good anyway. This short film, yes you can really call it that also has a nice modern wild west and Easy Rider tone to it that is pretty easy to enjoy. A good listen, but actually also one where I think that the video really still elevates the material. This was released back in 2012 and it may be a contender for Lana Del Rey's career-best at this point. My suggestion is to not just listen to the record here, but go for the video, the long version that to me looked fairly artistic. Great it may not be, but certainly good enough for 10 minutes.
