William is wildly excited to wake up on his thirtieth birthday, but even better, he gets a letter for Jury service, completing his dream ambition, and following in his father's footsteps. William has a childlike glee when he meets his fellow jurors and the case gets going, but his mouth gets him into trouble.

A completely madcap comedy, with bonkers characters and totally surreal characters, as insane as everything was I found it very funny and would love to see more. A six part serial would be so good, to follow the trial from start to finish. Some definite quality actors in this, Kerry Howard, Maggie Steed and Sophie Thompson, Edward Easton added a lot of energy and fun.

I like this kind of zany humour, 7/10

Lovely Comedy

I am not sure how they will drag this out or where this is heading but the pilot was funny, not hilarious, just chuckle-worthy.

A wide array of characters, some weak, some strong, all a bit predictable, go for jury duty. The lead character sees this as his goal in life.

Naturally everybody involved is a nutter, one stranger as the other but all very recognizable characters.

A good show to watch before going to sleep, or if you feel bored. It s not binge-worthy nor will anyone find this as enjoyable as Big Bang or Friends.

Jury duty

Even an absurdist comedy will have a kernel of truth. Writer James Acaster is far away from the truth about the jury system as you can get. In fact the only normal person in this pilot episode is the Defendant.

The program focuses on William a man child who in his 30th birthday is called up for jury duty, following on his father's footsteps who set the defendant free many years earlier. We find out that his father is now inside doing time.

It turns out that the rest of the jurors are wacky as he is, they mostly think that the Defendant looks guilty, they are more concerned how the courtroom artist will portray them and the Judge who is presiding in her last trial is wants to go out on a cool note.

Totally unrealistic as to how the court and jury operates and really an infantile comedy which barely raised a laugh with me.

love James Acasters humour and really loved this

Stumbled across this and as James Acaster wrote it and I've seen him live thought I'd watch and yep I wasn't disappointed it has a great cast with some comic geniuses and I really laughed all the way through. It's silly yes but hey life us just to miserable at times so this is perfect. Really hope a series a series is produced soon!
