"Stranger Things in Ninety Seconds" is a short film from 2016 and as you can see from the title obviously already here we have a little spoof of the really successful (then new) Netflix show Stranger Things. It is basically a 2-people project by Joel Ward and Allison Minick who were in charge of the entire project in front of the camera, the script and Ward on his own with the direction. First of all it needs to be said the title is a lie as this one, even if it stays under the 2-minute mark, is considerably longer than 90 seconds. I am a bit surprised it does exist even as I thhought these "in x seconds" clips are only part of a small Youtube fan-made series. But I think this project here has nothing to do with those. As for the precise contents, maybe you ened to be a big Stranger Things fan to really appreciate it or maybe then you will dislike it even more, but I thought it was not too funny and also slightly repetitive already. Stuff coming out of his nose and mouth just won't cut the cake. Same for her constant screaming of (most of the time) the same name. I also feel this is not a good spoof as the memorable ones manage to bring out the greatness in a show even and judging from this one here Strangers Things must be really uncreative and monotonous, which it certainly is not. So all in all, thanks to the decent make-up and 2 or 3 other components, this one we got here is not a failure, but without the popularity of the show it is about, it would surely not be seen by almost anybody. I also think you can skip it and it's a thumbs-down for me. I am glad it was this short.
