Why are people so unkind?

After spending ages specifically looking for this particular Anne Edmonds series to cheer myself up with (remembering the gut laughs it gave me a few years ago and wanting to share it with some mates as well) it amazes me that people can take the time and effort to write lengthy, detailed, nasty reviews while whining about how their precious time has been wasted. 1)If it's that bad, why watch it all? And b) A simple thumbs down would suffice, save you time and sound less....plain nasty.

Personally, I love love love this whimsical series. It's different, yes, but hilarious in that weird way that you either get or you don't. I, personally, found it genuinely delightful (and, believe me, that is high praise coming from a major depressive) and thought Edmonds did a bloody brilliant job with the different characters. Bring on an encore series for us "quiet Bush fans"!

Thank God for the rare comedians who can still stir genuine mirth amongst those of us who often find it hard to smile.

A hidden gem

This comedy is some kind of magic alchemy, sometimes over the top, sometimes so subtle I didn't know quite why I was laughing so hard. It may use similar techniques as shows like "League of Gentlemen", but it is really is own unique, and demented creation.

Anne Edmonds is hilarious in every role she plays, and clearly did an amazing job writing and creating this show too.

Supporting cast are great too, including the fantastic Damien Power and Greg Larsen.

Give it a go, it is the kind of specific humour that either won't be your taste, or will be the best thing you've watched for years. I saw it at the time of release, and have rewatched 4 times since.

Doesn't quite cut it

It's a poorer version of other shows where 1 person plays a variety of characters in a mockumentary style comedy.

A bit of Trailer Park Boys meets Kath & Kim

Endless dry jokes from beginning to end, the characters and their antics are just on the verge of plausible for outback Australia. Adding the concept of not really understanding and messing up real time YouTube streaming is quite a brilliant angle base it all around.

If you've lived in anywhere described as 'the bush' in Australia then pretty much all the stupid or insane things they do or say, well... you'll probably have heard or seen someone do something like that at some time in real life. They just wrapped heaps of it all up into a short episode (each is only 15 min) series.

There plenty of classic only in Australia sayings which might need a little translation for foreigners.
