- TriviaThe game is infamous for its game over screen, which features an actual dead body. Based on the picture's date (8/6/1992), the body was speculated to be that of Polish boxer Leszek Blazynski (committed suicide on August 6, 1992), Palestine activist Atef Bseiso, or Egyptian author Farag Foda (both assassinated on June 8, 1992). It wasn't until 2019 that the picture was confirmed to be a still frame from the Japanese mondo film New Death File III. The body is of an unidentified civilian killed in 1992 during the Bosnian War, and appears at the 28:55 mark of the film.

One of the greatest moments in the history of the video game industry.
It should not come as a surprise to anyone that I am scoring this game a 10/10, I have truly never played a game like it before.
I've seen arguments suggesting that this is the best shooting game of all time, or perhaps the best console game of all time and I would have to agree with them. There just simply aren't any games I can think of off the top of my head that strike me as masterpieces the same way Hong Kong 97 does. This is a revolutionary moment in gaming and I can't think of any words to describe my experiences playing it. End of story.
