Empress Of has announced her fourth studio album: For Your Consideration, due March 22nd. Today, along with the announcement, she shared the single “What’s Love” featuring Muna.
For Your Consideration will be Empress Of’s first full-length release since 2020’s I’m Your Empress Of, and follows 2022’s Save Me EP. Spanning 11 tracks, the new record’s press release explains that it will be “a bi-lingual album that embraces camp and fantasy playing with the idea of Hollywood.”
In a statement, Empress Of’s Lorely Rodriguez explained that the title of the album is a reference to an ex-lover. “I was in love with a director and he was announcing his ‘For Your Consideration’ campaign for the Oscars,” she said. “He took me up on a hill and said he was emotionally unavailable and he kind of broke my heart. Rome-based indie distributor Intramovies has snapped up international sales rights to Locarno contender “Nightsiren” (“Svetlonoc”) by Tereza Nvotovà.
The Slovakia-Czech Republic production turns on a young woman who returns to her remote mountain home to seek answers about her traumatized childhood. The deeply superstitious villagers turn on her, accusing her of witchcraft and murder.
As Nvotová, who co-wrote the screenplay with Barbara Namerová, explains in her statement, “Nightsiren” “seeks to dispel outdated myths surrounding womanhood, drawing a line between ancient misogynist superstitions and their resurgence in the modern world.”
“Even though women are no longer being burned at the stake, they’re still targeted for their sexuality, emotionality and reproductive choices. Only the label has changed, from ‘witch’ to ‘slut.’ ‘Nightsiren’ talks about the value of freedom if we refuse to go down the conventional path,” she asserts.

Kim Cattrall may not be reuniting with her Sex and the City co-stars for HBO Max's forthcoming reboot, but she does have a string of projects in the works.
Peacock has announced the beloved actress has joined the cast of its upcoming Queer as Folk reboot.
Cattrall will play a martini-soaked, high society southern debutant with trailer park roots, according to the streaming service.
While the actress is not a series regular, she has been billed as a recurring guest star, meaning she will pop up sporadically throughout the first season of the show.
The new take "is a vibrant reimagining of the groundbreaking British series created by Russell T. Davies, exploring a diverse group of friends in New Orleans whose lives are transformed in the aftermath of a tragedy," according to the streamer.

NBC’s The Voice led Monday’s broadcast ratings in primetime, delivering a 1.0 in the adults 18-49 demographic and 7.45 million viewers. The reality singing competition held steady with last week while adding to its audience. Following the two-hour Voice, NBC warmed us up for Election Day with an SNL election special.
ABC debuted the fourth season of The Good Doctor, which scrubbed in down compared with its Season 3 average, hitting a series low for its return, the first of a two-parter that faces Covid-19 head-on. Its lead-in, Dancing With the Stars (0.7, 5.31M), lost its rhythm from last week, dipping three tenths in the demo and shedding viewers.
NBC won the night overall in both metrics, followed by ABC. Univision finished third in the demo with Médicos, Imperio de Mentiras and Dulce Ambición.

Hey, "Filthy Rich" fans. We've got some not-so-good news for you guys in this article. It has come to our attention that the Fox network will not be airing the next, new episode 4 of Filthy Rich's current premiere season 1 tonight, October 12, 2020. On a more positive note, we can officially tell you that Fox fully intends to air the new episode 4 next Monday night, October 19, 2020 in its usual 8 pm central standard time slot. So, be sure to mark down that extremely important date and time on your TV show calendars at your earliest convenience. With that said, let's get into why Fox isn't airing the next, new episode 4 of Filthy Rich's current season 1 tonight. It turns out that Fox has decided to ditch its entire, usual primetime shows to provide Live coverage of the 2020 Major League baseball playoff game 1 between the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

CBS’ Thursday edition of Big Brother finished as primetime’s top-rated show with a 1.1 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 4.00 million viewers (Live+Same Day), while facing stiff competition with the season premieres of ABC’s game show block. As a result, the two networks tied for the top spot in the demo. Meanwhile, CBS All Access Star Trek: Discovery had a quiet broadcast premiere on CBS.
ABC won the night in viewers with the fall bows of Celebrity Family Feud, Press Your Luck and Match Game on their new night; the trio aired on Sundays in the summer where they each were No. 1 in their timeslots in both demo and viewers during their runs. ABC and Fox, which aired repeats of The Masked Singer and freshman soap Filthy Rich, were likely impacted by NFL football preemptions last night (Miami-Jacksonville also aired nationally on NFL Network) and could see adjustments later today.

It’s perhaps surprising Kim Cattrall hadn’t yet headlined a soap opera. As Samantha Jones on “Sex and the City,” her slyness and way with a pun came to be revealed as elegant concealments of the character’s deep need. In later seasons, as the protective shell was stripped away, Cattrall showed a fluency and depth in playing a character whose breakability provided some of the show’s deepest and most satisfying melodrama.
It’s too bad, then, that on “Filthy Rich,” her new Fox drama, Cattrall is never really given the opportunity to dig in. As Margaret Monreaux, the matriarch of a wealthy televangelist family in the American South, Cattrall plays both an iffy Louisiana accent and a sustained note of smooth, assured competence. Despite all manner of family difficulties, Margaret remains both on top of the situation and unruffled to a degree that cuts off all we know Cattrall can do.

As one of the weirder “back to school” seasons in living memory rolls out, Hulu is heading back to school in its own way for September 2020.
The biggest Hulu original arriving to the streaming services stream this month is season 2 of coming-of-age comedy Pen15…which of course stars two adults who have already come of age playing their middle school selves.
Speaking of middle school, perhaps the biggest non-original addition to the Hulu library this month is the arrival of all The Twilight Saga movies on September 1. That should prove to be a real nostalgia trip for interested parties. Other library titles of note include Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, The Terminator, and 2019’s Judy on September 25.
Bookending Hulu’s originals this month is another intriguing comedy, Woke. This series will star Lamorne Morris as a Black cartoonist who gets an unexpected wakeup call.

London-based boutique film sales outlet Film Republic has added Barbara Vekaric’s “Aleksi” to it slate. The company has unveiled a promo for the film, which is wrapping post-production.
The Croatian-Serbian co-production features Tihana Lazovic, who appeared in 2015 Un Certain Regard Jury Prize winner “Zvizdan” (The High Sun). She was selected by European Film Promotion as a Shooting Star at the Berlin Film Festival in 2016.
“Aleksi” tells the story of a post-graduate who returns home to help out on her parents’ vineyard on an idyllic Dalmatian island. A millennial in pursuit of a career abroad, she wastes away her summer indulging in parties and the night life the island has to offer, until she must face up to her responsibilities.
It is one of a number of films in Film Republic’s lineup that are female-centric. More than 60% of the slate comprises films by female directors — and about the same...

Following its release on Feb. 2, Justin Timberlake‘s latest album Man of the Woods has opened at No. 1, giving the pop superstar his fourth consecutive Billboard chart-topper. As Justin Timberlake gets ready for his upcoming Super Bowl performance, he's clearing the air about his infamous halftime show with Janet Jackson in 2004. During an interview with Beats 1 Radio, the "Filthy" singer spoke candidly about the controversial moment where he accidentally ripped off part of Janet's top, exposing her bare breast on live TV. "I stumbled through it," he said about the incident, which has since been dubbed "nipplegate." "You know, to be quite honest I had my wires crossed. And it's something that you have to look back on and go, like, 'Ok, well, you know, you can't change what's happened, but, you know, you can move forward and learn from it.'" While Justin assured host Zane Lowe that there wouldn't be a repeat of his last appearance at the Super Bowl, he did reveal that he has since made peace with Janet about the whole ordeal.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel led by example when they showed up wearing all black to the Golden Globe Awards in La on Sunday. Jessica stunned in a strapless floor-length gown, while Justin cut a suave figure in a matching tux. The couple were just two of the many stars wearing all-black looks as a symbol of protest against sexual harassment in the industry. Prior to arriving at the ceremony, Justin posted a selfie of him and Jessica getting ready on Instagram, writing, "Here we come!! And Damn, my wife is hot!#Timesup #whywewearblack." It was a big night for the pair, as Jessica was nominated for best performance by an actress in a limited series for her leading role in The Sinner (sadly, she didn't win) and Justin celebrated the recent release of his single, "Filthy." Following the ceremony, Jessica and Justin capped off their night by letting loose at NBC & USA Networks afterparty.

Justin Timberlake has a new song out, and the music video for it is surprisingly cool. I know, I know, I'm setting myself up to be roasted by the community for this one, but the concept of this video is cool enough I'm willing to risk it. I'm not entirely sure what this robot's purpose is other than doing sexy dance moves and singing, but damn that CGI work is pretty good!

Justin Timberlake has spent the week getting bruised up a bit for his Man Of The Woods album announcement. It seems the actor and singer has discovered the powerful combination of Terrence Malick films and L.L. Bean catalogs, along with the works of Bon Iver. Justin Timblerake dropped "Filthy" last night, the first single off his upcoming album, Man of the Woods.
