Fox Corporation has snagged the syndication rights to a forthcoming version of the National Football League’s (NFL) morning recap and discussion program, “Good Morning Football.”
This fall, Fox-owned television stations across the country will start airing the syndicated, two-hour version of Good Morning Football (Gmfb) from NFL Network, with the inaugural broadcast set for September 2.
The deal means the program will clear several major markets, including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle, Milwaukee, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. In many areas where Fox owns the local broadcast station, the community is also served by a National Football Conference (NFC) team; two years ago, Fox extended its agreement with the NFL to continue broadcasting NFC games on Sunday afternoon through the 2032-33 season.

Fox’s local TV stations are about to get more NFL football.
The Fox-owned stations have picked up the syndicated version of Good Morning Football, the long-running NFL Network morning show. The show will run as a strip on Mondays-Fridays, with episodes featuring interviews and analysis of the week’s games.
Fox, of course, is the home of one of the NFL’s big Sunday afternoon packages.
The NFL announced the plans for the syndicated version of the show back in March, revealing that production for the show would move from New York to Los Angeles. The syndicated extension of the show will coexist with the NFL Network program, which will continue to run on the cable channel and on the NFL+ service.
Good Morning Football will return to NFL Network this summer, with the syndicated version set to debut on Sep. 2.

NFL Network is cutting ties with commentator Michal Irvin after 15 years, Deadline has learned. Irvin’s exit comes amid a major shakeup at the network.
The former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver had been at the network since 2009. Irvin made headlines when he was booted from NFL Network’s Super Bowl coverage in 2023 following a complaint from a woman as he checked into his hotel. Irvin denied wrongdoing and filed a defamation lawsuit alleging he was falsely accused.
After being taken off the air, Irvin returned to the network later that year at the start of the NFL season.

Veteran names like Palmer, Selva, Siciliano and Stark are out at NFL Media, which could soon fall under ESPN’s purview.
NFL players who get cut often cite the fact that the league is a business, first and foremost. This week, some high-profile NFL Network personalities found the same hard truth staring them in the face, as the league decided it was time to move on from Andrew Siciliano, Melissa Stark, James Palmer, and Will Selva. Normally these personnel cuts wouldn’t attract much more than well-wishes for the departing talent, but in this case, there is room to speculate that the moves are designed to help the NFL streamline its media operations in preparation for a big deal with Disney and ESPN.

Kyle Brandt and Jason McCourty hosted Good Morning Football one last time from the NYC studio before the show’s move to LA later this year.
Things got emotional at the end of the broadcast when Brandt went outside to the streets, where the cast had hosted many segments over the years. Brandt recalled the first episode, which aired on August 1, 2016, in which he said it was an “honor” and “privilege” to be at the Gmfb table in NYC.
“I also remember at that time I had 18 months guaranteed on my contract, and my wife said, ‘Well, if the show is terrible, at least we have 18 months to figure out how to move back to LA,'” Brandt said. “And 18 months in New York City became eight years, it became over 1,800 episodes and it became home at the breakfast table.”

Peter Schrager recalled some of his best moments from Good Morning Football as he bid farewell to the “NYC era” of the show as production moves to LA this summer.
“Today is my last day in the New York City Good Morning Football studios,” Schrager said on Friday’s show.
Schrager reminded viewers that Gmfb started on 59th Street and then moved to Times Square before moving to lower Manhattan “for the last several seasons,” adding, “Each studio holds a place in my heart and has a real place in this show’s history.”
Embassy Row’s production started on the NFL Network in 2016 and will move to LA later this year. Co-host Jamie Erdahl announced earlier this week she was moving to California with the show, but it is unclear which of the other co-hosts will make the move.

“Good Morning Football” is going for extra yards.
The NFL, which has aired the A.M. program since 2016 on its own NFL Network, plans to create a new two-hour “extension series” that will be carried by multiple partners in syndication. Sony Pictures Television will distribute the program, which will have a new title. Meanwhile, the original “Good Morning Football” will go on hiatus for the summer starting March 29 and will relaunch by preseason.
“Good Morning Football” was the first New York based program to run on NFL Network and replaced the Los Angeles studio program “NFL Am.” The current program will soon originate from a new complex in Inglewood, Calif., where the league will have access to five different soundstages and a podcast studio for its various media produtions.

Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy aren’t the only ones who are likely to be feeling intense pressure on Super Bowl Sunday.

After Travis Kelce scored a touchdown, putting the Chiefs up 24 to 17, CBS compared his statistics on-screen “with Taylor Swift in attendance” versus when he’s been “left to his own devices.” And, for the record, his performance excels with the pop star in the stands, logging 99 receiving yards per game. Sports betting has come an awfully long way in the United States in a relatively short amount of time. Since the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 was struck down by the Supreme Court in 2018, more than 35 states have decided to legalize wagering on live sports.
Nowadays, sports betting companies are behaving more and more like media companies as they try to expand their brands. That’s certainly the case for DraftKings, as according to Bloomberg the company has announced it is launching a new ad-supported streaming service in the coming weeks.
The service will be free, and feature video versions of podcasts sponsored by DraftKings. The company currently has deals in place with the podcast conglomerate iHeartMedia, as well as Meadowlark Media, a startup founded by former ESPN founder John Skipper and ESPN radio and podcast host Dan Le Batard.

Nothing beats waking up with a hot cup of coffee and your favorite television show! If you’re a Sunday football fan, you know the fear of waking up on Monday morning with no new games until the weekend.
However, you may not know about the show “Good Morning Football” which allows you to watch football highlights and news with your morning coffee, even on weekdays. Currently, you can stream “Good Morning Football” on NFL Network Live or on ESPN for full coverage of all things football.
About “Good Morning Football”
“Good Morning Football” is a live coverage morning program from the NFL Network, originally airing on August 1st, 2016. After little success with the “NFL HQ” and “NFL Am” morning show, the NFL Network created “Good Morning Football” to give sports fans a way to catch up on game highlights, recaps, and football news without watching the Sunday night games live.

ESPN and Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions are continuing to expand their podcast ambitions, launching a daily show to be led by NFL Network host Kyle Brandt.
The show, Kyle Brandt’s Basement, will actually originate from a tiny studio in the Good Morning Football host’s basement, and will be available on ESPN’s YouTube channel as well as all the major podcast platforms. He will continue to host NFL Network’s morning show.
Brandt tells The Hollywood Reporter that the lighthearted name “just lends itself to some of the stuff we are going to do.”
“If there is something to complain about, I will complain about that thing for 6 minutes and bring in contributors who want to complain about it too. If there’s something to do fist pumps about, same deal,” Brandt adds. “I will be shooting baskets in the basements,...

When the rebranded CBS Mornings debuts on Tuesday, it will include Nate Burleson’s first appearance in the co-host chair.
While his addition would seem to be a marked departure for the show — Burleson is a former NFL pro turned sports broadcaster – he doesn’t see it that way.
“I get to pull back the layers and show people that I’m so much more than an athlete,” Burleson said.
He’ll join Gayle King and Tony Dokoupil at a period of change for the show, as the network once again retools its morning news slot with a new title, theme and studio, the former MTV Total Request Live space on Times Square.
Burleson has been host on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football for the past five years, and has been New York correspondent for Extra, something he says has helped prepare him for the mix of feature stories...

NFL Media and Dish Network Corporation have reached a new carriage agreement for NFL Network and NFL RedZone. Distribution of both networks has been restored on Dish TV and Sling TV (as part of the Sling TV Blue package) today, the first Sunday of the 2020 NFL regular season.
The last agreement ended in June. NFL Media said at the time it “remains committed to negotiating an agreement and has offered terms consistent with those in place with other distributors.”
Without a distribution agreement in place for NFL Network and NFL RedZone, Dish and Sling subscribers missed daily shows Good Morning Football, NFL Total Access and NFL Now, and the newly launched Player’s Choice series featuring classic games and long-form storytelling from the NFL Films archive.

ESPN’s latest sport has no rules, a flexible season and no championship game. Its only stars are the ones working behind the scenes.
The Disney-owned sports-media juggernaut finds itself in an impossible situation. The outlet spends millions to secure the rights to air hours and hours of live basketball, football, baseball, racing, boxing and mixed martial arts. In normal times, that’s a very successful business model. In a moment when the entire nation has been essentially sidelined, so too have the sports that ESPN depends upon so heavily. ESPN’s new game is to get people to keep watching even when the main thing they want to watch is not available.
“There are so many creative things we can do, similar to some of the initiatives we’ve done in the past for special event anniversaries, ‘The Ocho’ day and more,” says Burke Magnus, ESPN’s executive vice president,...

When playing fantasy football, there’s going to be some trash talk, and it’s not beneath Marvel stars Paul Rudd and Chris Pratt to do the talkin’… all in the name of charity, of course.
Agbo Films — the production company founded by “Avengers: Endgame” directors Joe and Anthony Russo — is sponsoring a charity fantasy football league featuring 14 superhero movie stars. Called the Agbo Superhero League, it features stars like Tom Holland, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., and the stars involved in this week’s big matchup, Rudd and Pratt.
Pratt started the smack talk Friday when he posted a video while on location in Iceland.

[[tmz:video id="0_o7ju74jy"]] Enough with the sequins and the cha-cha ... Calvin Johnson needs to get his ass out of the ballroom and back into the NFL ... so says his ex-teammate, Nate Burleson. The ex-wr -- who's now hosting "Good Morning Football" on the NFL Network -- was out in Houston Wednesday night when he stopped our guy and sent a personal message to the Detroit Lions legend. He also shouted out Marshawn Lynch ... saying Both dudes still obviously...
