Are the police really this stupid?

Okay, I have been riveted to this excellent series, but disbelief had to be suspended when dopey detective Pete Dixon, aka Barrack Obama... along with the remainder of the police, assumed that the man laying with a very stiff Deborah Hartsfield was the psycho Brady Hartsfield - without any forensic investigation or even dental record checking. As another reviewer correctly pointed out, DNA testing was available after 1986, so should have been used to determine the burnt victims.

Other than that it's an 8/10.

Failure

This is a Failure to keep up with the times after 1990.

After discovering the explosives, the SWAT Team Members would have cut the wires leading to the detonators with non metallic wire cutters (plastic school scissors), or simply removing the blasting caps (electric detonators), the detonators would explode but not the explosives.

DNA tests would be required to determine that this was actually Brody, based on a DNA Test match to his Mother, before anything is assumed and the Case Closed.

Basically, this Episode portrays the Law Enforcement as Stupid.

Then there is the Ice Cream Truck, somebody In Command or a Member of the SWAT Team, or a SWAT Team Sniper (Snipers, using high powered Spotting Scopes) would have been looking at the Ice Cream Truck using high powered Binoculars or Spotting Scopes, before SWAT even approached, or fired any kind of Smoke or Riot Control Agent.
