Strange Time With Bill Maher

Warning: Spoilers
I do not get to see this series all the time, but with a free bit of HBO I did see this one. This episode shows that Political Science (PS) has taken a giant leap backwards since I took it in college. Of course, I am not surprised, but shocked at how bad it has become.

One of the biggest bits of FAKE NEWS on this one was when Bill Maher cited poll figures from PEW Research (which should be pronounced Pew). It is interesting to see Maher sound exactly like Rush Limbaugh using Limbaugh's favorite source of polling data. I thought for a minute I was hearing Rush on this show.

Of course the problem with this episode was it sits back and takes pot shots a lot, but as usual offers nothing constructive to counter balance what is going on. You will not find solutions here to how anything is going to be fixed, but lots of examples of how everything is broken.

The sequence on women to start off was sad as it illustrated everything that is wrong with how women and men relate, and made the problem even worse than it already is. I mean, there was a news story last week about a woman accused of murdering her husband and the judge asked her to post $35 million dollars in bail. Guess what, she made bail. That is the picture this first part illustrated perfectly. (The Ulitmate Unforgiving rich b*t*h).

One reason I do rate this a "5" is because at least Maher does make Democrats and Republicans out to be equally stupid (especially when he calls Republicans "Dumb" which is the real problem since anyone who ever uses a dictionary would know how badly the word "dumb" is abused here.

In a way it is too bad this is not on the major networks. They are just as guilty of doing this cr*p as Maher is.

Warning: Spoilers
This was Bill's best Final New Rule in a long time. He hit it perfectly that while Mars travel may seem fun, it's centuries away and we have pressing matters on Earth to take care of first.

This was a really weak panel. David Miliband could have talked a lot about Brexit and the recent trends in Europe, but we barely touched on that. And SE Cupp tries too hard to balance being a cool, counter- culture Republican and playing to the crowd whilst also embracing and refusing to even laugh at the ridiculous things Republicans can sometimes do.
