One of his best. A classic one with such a deep meaning behind it. Amazing song with an amazing visually stunning video. Perfection. Just wow. Nothing can top this. 10 out of 10. The King of Pop is also the King of Short Films.

This came out in the 80s??

What? that cant be. This short film is so iconic and so well done. No wonder it won a Grammy. Michael and the people involved in the making of this video all did a fantastic job. Just amazing. Another classic by the greatest entertainer of all time.

A powerful message, splendid images, good chosen cultural references and the perfect answer to the media news. Ironic and fresh. Great scene by scene . And just classic.

Animated music video starring the King of Pop

Warning: Spoilers
Here we have the music video for the Michael Jackson song "Leave Me Alone" from 1989, so this one will soon have its 30th anniversary. MJ was 30 when he made this one and once again it is very different compared to everything else, even by today's standards. The reason is that these 4.5 minutes are an animated music video and even with animation being a genre that keeps giving us some of the best and most lucrative films each year, it has not really made the transition to music videos, maybe because the artist wants to be seen. Sure there are some animated music videos by Gorillaz for example, but these are really just the exception. Back to this one here: The director is Jim Blashfield and he worked on several other music videos too without ever making a big transition to actual film. Because of MJ's popularity and also the success with awards bodies, this one here is maybe his biggest success. However, the only thing about the animation I can say is that it was fast. I don't know if I would call it creative or even inspired. It may make more sense to Jackson than to viewers. In addition, the song did not impress me a great deal either. It's not bad, but the typical generic stuff by MJ. Overall, this one is just for the fans and it won't turn you into one. I give it a thumbs-down and suggest you skip it.
