Rising star Mike Beckingham will star in “Waltzing With Brando” alongside Billy Zane, who plays a “Godfather”-era Marlon Brando in the upcoming movie.
Beckingham, younger brother of actor, writer and producer Simon Pegg, will play Bernard Judge in the comedic feature, which is set in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Judge was an idealistic L.A. architect selected by Brando and tasked with building the world’s first ecologically perfect retreat on a tiny Tahitian island that had been thought uninhabitable.
The picture is based upon Judge’s memoir, which recounts his relationship with Brando and his work with the enigmatic star on the designs for the would-be island getaway.
British actor Beckingham’s credits include horror pic “Redwood” and supernatural movie “Black Site.” In 2020 he will be seen in “The Host,” with Derek Jacobi and Dutch actor Maryam Hassouni, and British sci-fi film “G-Loc” alongside Stephen Moyer...

Lauren Ashley Carter with Jerry G Angelo in Artik
Three years ago my colleague Paul interviewed Lauren Ashley Carter about her striking performance in Mickey Keating’s Darling. Since then she’s appeared in the likes of Imitation Girl, Black Site and Darlin’, always making an impression, and now she can be seen as the loyal partner of a serial killer in Tom Botchii Skowronski’s Artik.
Though present in only a few scenes, the character of Flin is vital to the story, contextualising Artik’s actions and humanising a family on the brink. She also proves to be quite formidable in her own right. Two things persuaded Lauren to say yes to the role, she says.
“It was not a character that I’d ever played before and that’s something that I always look for, especially when I’m staying in the same genre, so that was the...

As someone who reviews a Lot of movies, who grew up in the era of the video shop, its fun to see people clearly raised on the same types of films I enjoyed as a teenager now stepping behind the camera and making films of their own. Films that, as the filmmakers peers, I can recognise as having been influenced by the very same films I know, and in a lot of cases, love. Case in point, Tom Paton.
Paton’s last film, Black Site, clearly wore its inspirations on its sleeve, the John Carpenter-esque action-horror hybrid was just that. A John Carpenter inspired film that the genre maestro could have easily made back in his 80s heyday, probably around...

Exclusive: When the Paz Brothers’ new horror film The Golem hits theaters next week, it will do so via Dread, the official new name for Dread Central Presents. The genre label is continuing to ramp up its slate after the brand was acquired in 2017 by Epic Pictures.
The next in-house production in the Dread pipeline is Lucky, a feminist horror film that begins preproduction soon in Los Angeles, Natasha Kermani (Imitation Girl) directs from a script by
Brea Grant.
Grant also stars as May, a suburban mother stalked night after night by a threatening but elusive figure. With few clues as evidence and no witnesses, she finds her story and her sanity questioned by authorities. As each attack intensifies, and with no one to turn to for help, May finds herself alone and locked in an increasingly vicious battle with someone or something that may be unstoppable.

Mankind found a way to overpower its Gods in Tom Paton’s throwback sci-fi horror Black Site. After discovering that Elder Gods were in-hiding and draining our planet of its most precious resource (people) for millennia, humanity found ancient incantations to bind them and ultimately deport them back from whence they came with no chance of return. It’s the type of knowledge that could disenfranchise the masses with proof of our “creators” being nothing more than a malignant species from far away that craves our souls as food. So those in the know reinforce the lie by building so-called “black sites” with the off-grid capability of facilitating the incarceration and expulsion of these nightmare fuel Lovecraftian monsters. And right now one is preparing to do exactly that.
One man’s enemy is another’s salvation, though. If enough people see Elder Gods as their makers, they’ll surely sacrifice themselves if asked.

Not one but Three kick-ass powerful leading ladies. Break-neck fight choreography straight out of The Raid. A spellbinding and ear tickling 80s retro synth score. A chilling Lector-esque performance that gave this reviewer the Heebie Jeebies. Action, Elder Gods with a Lovecraftian mythology twist. Tom Paton brings all of this in his game changing must see genre defying, sleek, stylised, adventurous ode to John Carpenter for a modern audience.
Finally Black Site has had its sold out premiere at Frightfest down in London (sadly 365 could not make it). However this means that finally I can bring you my review. Now I will say right up front that if you listen to our podcast you...

One of this year’s Frightfest World Premieres, Black Site had people excited with only its description promising John Carpenter-esque action… Which is all I needed to hear to give it a watch. In truth, despite despite this playing at Frighfest, it’s not really a horror movie. The sci-fi elements more than make it worthy of being shown at one of the World’s leading genre festivals though.
The sci-fi here feels very Lovecraftian, involving elder gods that are living on Earth being captured and held at the Artemis Black Site until they are not needed any more and are sent back from where they originally came. It all feels very much...

As if the lineup for Arrow Video FrightFest 2018 wasn't impressive enough, the festival has added two films to its slate: David Barker's Pimped (touted as an erotic thriller with a touch of Hitchcock and Brian De Palma appeal) and screenings of the restoration of John Carpenter's classic Halloween! The guest lineup includes Barbara Crampton, Leigh Whannell, Shaked Berenson (Tales of Halloween), Issa López (Tigers are not Afraid), composer Fabio Frizzi, and many more!
Press Release: Two extra films have been added to the record-breaking 2018 line-up: Pimped is director David Barker’s modern transgressive erotic thriller, an Hitchcocktail of elevated suspense and shock in the revered style of Brian De Palma, And If you’ve never seen John Carpenter’s Halloween on the big screen, now’s your best chance. The inclusion of this 4K restoration needs no explanation in anticipation of a new Michael Myers slasher being released in October.

We at 365Flicks and Nerdly have been championing Tom Paton since I had the pleasure of being sent Pandorica and asked to give it a review. I have told the story on the podcast a couple of times but upon really getting a kick out of the movie and writing up a nice little article, well Tom got to read it and reached out to me over Twitter. I asked him to come on the show to talk Pandorica, he teased us about his second flick Redwood, which we got to see at Sfw in Wales (sort of a soft screening). We gushed over that and after numerous conversations the guys invited us to spend the day on the set of Black Site. We had an amazing day and...

Tom Paton's new flick Black Site caught our attention back in the Spring when we read that it could be best described as 'Hp Lovecraft meets The Raid'. The idea was boastful but still interesting enough. The only question is what would it look like? Well, Screen Anarchy has an answer as we get to premiere the first teaser trailer for Black Site. All the action is compacted into the back end. Lots of sword and blunt instrument action with no indicators of firearm action. And the joy of The Raid films was the shear volume of bodies to break in their set pieces and there is no indication of that here. Yet. Still, what we are seeing is decent indie sci fi action...

Action thriller Never Let Go is now available on demand so we sat down with actress Angela Dixon to discuss her role in the film.
How did you first get into acting?
It all began at a very young age. I had always wanted to be an actor growing up but I didn’t really think that it could be more than a dream. Then, at the age of 16, I played the part of Barbara Allen in ‘Dark of the Moon’ at college and it appeared that I had some talent. At that point it started to become a reality for me. I studied drama at college, University and finally I went to drama school. So all in all I studied drama and acting for 6 years. Although the real learning starts when you are actually on the job.
What first attracted you to the film Never Let Go?
