Very well written

I enjoyed the film quite a bit. The story is what drew me in.

A woman has an unhealthy relationship with her only son after her husband dies mysteriously. The son is struggling with mental health issues. The mother is very religious but she does horrible things believing that God with give her a pass. After confirming her son is gay, she fears she must take action in order to save him in God's eyes. There is a twist ending that I didn't see coming. All in all I recommend Truly Madly.

Fine Storytelling Skills

Brian Dorton's (Trashology, Crazy Fat Ethel) outdoes himself in this underrated, underappreciated story. I won't give anything away, it's something you have to experience firsthand. However, this has so many relatable elements and that in and of itself strengthens the impact Truly, Madly has. Overall, a fine movie.
