Great song, predictable and subpar music video

Warning: Spoilers
The video starts off with Steve looking at this random girl on the street (Steve, you can do better than that). He goes over to her, she turns around, and she turns out to be Jeff Bridges in a wig. This joke is pretty good, but then it happens another time and by then it's predictable and repetitive. Steve races around trying to catch up to the girl, through many hotel rooms and even on the ocean with a few Shrek references on the way. So it seems like he's pretty committed to getting this girl, right? Remember that. At the very end, this girl drops her keys and Steve gives them to her. It seems like it's a happy ending, right? Nope! This girl even knows who Steve is because she knows about Smash Mouth, but for whatever reason, Steve turns her down because he "has to go!" WHAT?! You're telling me that after all that running after her, you change your mind for no reason? I don't think so! The video would've been somewhat okay without this ending, but since they decided to completely change his character for no reason it turned subpar. I'm telling you, this is probably the worst Smash Mouth music video.
