Under the wing of his mentor, the artist,
Bushnell Keeler, the then-blossoming filmmaker,
David Lynch, takes his 16mm Bolex camera to make a home movie. Aboard a small boat with Bushnell and his brother, Dave, a very young Lynch captures the serenity of the picturesque landscape, while on a sailing trip in the Chesapeake Bay, in melancholic, grainy black-and-white, observing his teacher, and practising various cinematography techniques.
