Pin Pals

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed the reunion of the Pin Pals, and it's a link to the golden era, and most certainly a much needed link for sure. The first half of this episode, Singin' in the Lane is definitely worth watching. The second half came across as a collection of vignettes and each vignette could have been an episode on its own.

It's hard to believe The Simpsons has run for nearly 35 years and for me, the golden era (the first 10 seasons) are the ones that pretty much count and are worth watching over and over again. Still, I do like the deliberate connection with the golden era for sure quite a lot when it works.

Great sequel of a classic episode.

Well I liked it. I would definitely say that it's one of the best episodes of the season. I thought that the jokes were decent (I enjoyed some of the slapstick gags with Moe) and I liked the fact that the episode had an actual story, not wasting time with 5 minutes of opening nonsense or a random subplot just to fill time. I also appreciated the fact that Homer really did not do much here, instead allowing the focus to shift to the buddies bar. I love the idea of an annual sequel (or prequel) of a classic episode, and in this case the continuation of Team Homer was much better than that of Kamp Krusty. To keep innovating and improving, that The Simpsons will never end!

A Fun Tribute to an Old Classic,
lesleyharris3024 October 2018
Singin' in the Lane is a great Simpsons episode with a very well written plot and plenty of very funny moments. The episode revives the old "Pin Pals" from a classic episode way back in the seventh season, I loved what they did with it, they were not just reviving an old classic for fanfare, but it was clear they clearly had a new story to tell that they were intrigued by.

The only complaint I have, as much as I like Lenny, Carl and Barney, I would have preferred if it was a proper revival with the original crew, Homer, Moe, Apu and Mr. Burns. I get that it was likely because they are viewed far more as a gang, but I would have loved to have seen them together again, especially seeing as we rarely see Apu, Moe and Mr. Burns interact with one another.

Funny and memorable. A blast from start to finish, Singin' in the Lane is a simple, fun Simpsons.

Moe revives his old bowling team to bring back some passion from his glory days.
