The short film was shot in Nampa, Idaho in the summer of 1992. During this time, David Lee Hefner was working at KIVI TV (ABC Network television affiliate), while Dan Hefner was working at KTRV TV (at the time, a FOX Network television affiliate). Mike Hefner, along with his parents, Tom Hefner and Leah Hefner, had come in to town on vacation to visit them.
The full sized VHS camcorder that the Hefner brothers used for the production was purchased by them at a Sears department store on October 16, 1991 for $1000.
There was no script, only a basic concept and idea. The dialogue was largely improvised.
The suspenseful short film was shot entirely in sequence consecutively over the course of one single evening.
Nampa Senior High School's mascot is the Bulldog. Coincidentally, Mike Hefner (Jock) wears a T-Shirt for the University of Georgia, featuring their mascot - the English Bulldog.
