Inspired by real events, Une intime conviction is about the disappearance of Suzanne Viguier and the trial of her husband. In 2009, filmmaker Karim Dridi talked about Jacques Viguier to Antoine Raimbault.
Shot in 34 days.
The Suzanne Viguier case had already been mentioned in the television movie La Disparition aired in 2012 on France 2, and led by Thierry Godard and Géraldine Pailhas.
For the design of these scenes, Antoine Raimbault and his team had a clear device: the least possible technical constraints, no change of light and no machinery.
To prepare himself before the shooting, Antoine Raimbault set up an improvisation workshop, or rather initiation to the assizes. The filmmaker has invited a criminal lawyer to detail the entire protocol to actors in the courtroom: explain to them for example how is the word distributed, what role has the president, the general advocate, the lawyers of the civil party, etc.
