[6.2] Going nowhere with 4 inches depth

Murders solved on the same episode?! I feared that already. The acting is good, the partner has a strong character and a genuinely pleasant personality, though she's rigorous and sort of tough. I like that.

Cumming the professor's character is engaging and interesting, he often know how to deal with situations, well, mostly knows, at least with his students!

Their professional relationship is complementary and very charismatic.

The real problem of the show is, yes, wrapping things up too quickly which will very soon get out of control and very repetitive. There's no tension, no thrill and suspense and no depth, aside the university jargon.

Smiling at each other is not enough to roll the series forward.

Too Rapid; Little Underpinning

I had so much hope for this show. Alan Cumming is pretty good, but the hollow plot and lack of direction sends it nowhere. What's wrong is that an interesting plot is developed when a man is brutally murdered, shot through the heart with a primitive arrow, dough stuck in his mouth and his head partly shaved. Cumming's character plays auditory games with his overzealous police partner. There are no red herrings, no effort to show how the crime was solved, and on and on. I'd give this show about two more episodes unless they make it more engaging.
