The officer had legal cause to stop the pedestrian, as jaywalking is a violation of the law. In her interview with the commissioner she correctly stated she had not violated department policy. As such, the disciplinary action taken against her was highly improper. The officer would also have a good case for being intimidated as she was interviewed without a representative present there and also by being taken to the jail cell to see the prisoner by the commissioner and a lieutenant. Frank's behind the scenes way of going about the termination was cowardly and out of character for him.
