Exclusive: Jenny Klein, executive producer on NBC/Blumhouse’s limited series The Thing About Pam, has been elevated to showrunner of the series starring Renée Zellweger and Josh Duhamel. She is replacing Jessika Borsiczky, who was originally attached as writer-showrunner but has left the project due to creative differences.
Klein’s involvement in the series stems from a one-year first-look deal she signed with Blumhouse Television earlier this year, marking her return to the indie studio after writing and producing its Facebook Watch drama Sacred Lies.

The series, currently in pre-production and casting, is based on the murder of Faria that resulted in her husband Russ’ conviction, though he insisted he didn’t kill her.

Philip Ettinger and Daniel Diemer will star in “Little Brother,” a new indie dramedy that is heading into production. The debut feature film is from Korean-American writer and director, Sheridan O’Donnell.
“Little Brother” follows Jake, played by Diemer, as he drives his older brother Pete, played by Ettinger, home for a family intervention after his most recent suicide attempt. While on the drive, the two brothers struggle to come to terms with the past, while trying to survive and cope with the present. “Little Brother” is inspired by a close friend of O’Donnell’s, who took his own life — with the film aiming to destigmatize and push conversations surrounding mental health and suicide.
Ettinger co-starred in HBO’s “I Know This Much Is True,” alongside Mark Ruffalo, and was the lead in the film, “The Evening Hour,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and will be released this August.

Exclusive: Canadian singer-actress Jordan Alexander has been cast as one of the leads in HBO Max’s Gossip Girl reboot.
Start of production on the 10-episode series — from Joshua Safran, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire, Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros TV and CBS Television Studios — was delayed by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Filming is expected to get underway this fall when Covid conditions permit.
Like the original series, the new iteration of Gossip Girl, written by Safran, is based on the book by Cecily von Ziegesar. Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens is introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years.
Details about Alexander’s character — one of the girls at the school — have not been released.
