Good ole Zombies

Writer/Director Augustine Garcia brings us "The Plague Rages". A tribute to George A. Romero's classic Dawn of the Dead. Made on a low budget but includes lots of love for the icon, turns out a superb movie. I particularly like the zombies makeup looks like the ones from Dawn of The Dead. I am sure if George was still alive he would of approved of this movie. The movie is not short on action or horror. And the filmmakers make every dollar count. True love for film making and horror are evident here. There are tons of zombies and plenty of blood. It's a race against time to get the antidote to work and rid the world of the rapidly spreading plague which leads to the zombie outbreak. Convincing backdrops of fires and destruction lead you to believe the chaos unfolding is really happening. Augustine "chainsaw" Garcia as the lead is perfect and very convincing. He is a zombie killing machine and bathed in gallons of blood. Augustine wears all hats and wrote and also directed. He proves he can deliver an entertaining movie on a microscale. Very nice cinematography and very good Sound an Picture only enhance the experience. The leads are very like able and terrific actors. I can't find much wrong except I wanted more. Let's hope it's successful enough for a sequel.

Writer/Director: Augustine Garcia. With: Xander Baxter, Benjamin Bunker, Michael Caldwell, Cassandra Calkins
