When Steve the cart-horse sees a flyer advertising a tightrope-walking contest, he decides to enter. His practicing, however, spreads consternation and sight gags.
This is the first of the "Come on Steve" series, based on Roland Davies' strip, which ran from 1931 through 1947. It's primitively drawn for the era, particularly compared to American cartoons, although the head of the police, who sends the flying squad after the runaway horse seems to be a caricature.
Despite the cartoon's technical shortcomings, it's very funny.
