- Hope Mikaelson: [voice-over] There's something I need to tell you. I just don't know how. So, to make you understand, maybe I should start from the end.
- Hope Mikaelson: [as they arrive in Kansas, voice-over:] Eighteen and a half hours is a long time to spend on the road. And even longer when you're being car-schooled.
- Alaric Saltzman: [concluding] And that is how osmosis works.
- Hope Mikaelson: [unenthusiastic] Mm.
- Alaric Saltzman: Is this the place?
- Hope Mikaelson: Yup. And not a moment too soon. Pretty sure you were about to tell me how babies are made.
- Landon Kirby: I'm starting to think that I'm a bit of a danger magnet.
- Hope Mikaelson: I'm starting to think you're right.
- [laughs softly]
- Landon Kirby: I didn't... I didn't mean to bring all this into your life. I'm sorry I ever walked into it.
- Hope Mikaelson: I'm not.
- [shakes her head]
- Landon Kirby: I, uh... I wrote you letters. On the... on the bus.
- Hope Mikaelson: Oh, yeah? What did they say?
- [smiles]
- Landon Kirby: They were embarrassing.
- Hope Mikaelson: [laughs] Try me.
- Landon Kirby: Um...
- [clears throat]
- Landon Kirby: Uh... "Dear Hope, the state of Alabama has, like, a million Waffle Houses, and I cannot stop thinking about what it felt like to kiss you."
- [which earns him an eager kiss]
- Alaric Saltzman: [walked in on Hope and Landon making out, now averting his eyes] Hope... uh... get another room. Now!
- Hope Mikaelson: You're the one that's always saying I need to connect more with people!
- Alaric Saltzman: Yeah, not literally! Now get out!
- [she rushes out]
