fascinating documentary

A very fascinating documentary based on the book of the same title, that I recently watched at Cinema Village in NY. The topics covered and message it tries to bring are of universal importance and especially in the current age of terror and mass migrations due to the Syrian war.

Interesting enough quite influential people are interviewed by the director and author of the book, who has a rich background in politics himself. It breaks some of the misinformation from the mainstream media and it's focus on the negative side. For example it demonstrates the forgiveness and tolerance in the lives of victims on both sides of the Israeli and Palestine conflict. You don't really see that covered elsewhere in general.

I enjoyed to see Cat Stevens voice his opinion and the Dalai Lama interviews just as much. What's adding value to these scenes is the sharpness of the knowledgeable interviewer, as I have often seen badly executed ones in other documentaries of this kind.

I did notice some minor flaws to the movie, for example regarding choice of a theme song that is not always fitting in my opinion. Perhaps a matter of taste though, it could be improved in follow up editions.

Eye-opening documentary

Love is Tolerance is promoting a very important movement we need in this world - teaching young people and help the conditioned people to open their hearts and show more tolerance in this unstable political and social climate we are facing currently. Some important figures around the world speak in their perspective of what tolerance means (Dalai Lama, Malala, to name a few). I found it to be very informative; learning things about the Quran I didn't know about and other nuggets of information. This film manages to stir new thinking, and I think that's a good thing.

An important film

Very unique and interesting. Especially the editing and the way the message of the documentary unfolds are quite different from most other films on that topic. What I liked in particular: it has a very clear message against intolerance but is never preachy.

Interesting

A rather interesting movie - definitely worth the time spent watching it. Not a mindless movie - but given engagement from the person watching it - well worth it.

Love Is Tolerance - Tolerance Is Love

Had the chance to see the documentary, which has an important message for the current time. News media is covering lots of bad news of the rise of extremists but majorities are overwhelmingly moderates. This document showcases that people of different races and religions have a warm heart and they want to develop compassionate societies where all races and religions can live together. People want to have peace, friendship, security, and love. Love Is Tolerance is a masterwork, which brings people together.
