Excellent thriller
kyleallencole924 August 2019
Watched this under the title Killer Body and I have to say that this one was an excellent thriller. It was more if a psychological mind games type if film. The villainess in it did a terrific job as well with her while revenge scheme. Couldn't believe she wanted to look excatly like the one person whom she extremely hated. Hadn't scene a character that obsessed with plastic surgery since the Nip Tuck tv series. Highly recommend!

Warning: Spoilers
As usual, our females have the same hair style. Curly long curls hanging over each shoulder and a hank of hair hanging in the back that reminds me of a horse's tail. For me it is hard to watch these females. The men look more normal. As a casting director, if a female comes in to audition with that look, they are automatically eliminated before they even audition. I know this is the trend, but it is always a pleasant surprise to see a woman with short hair stylized and looking classy. As for this 2018 film, it is okay to a point. Acting is predictable and story nothing unusual. But I give it 5 starts for attempt. Let's hope LMN brings better fare to 2019.

Reel One's version of Single White Female
lisafordeay3 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The Wrong Patient is a 2018 thriller starring Sunny Mabery, Lindsey Maxwell and Peter Benson.

The story follows Katie Jones(Mabery) a renowned plastic surgeon who has it all,a nice husband, perfect kids, a dream house and of course her own practise. Things take a turn however when one of her college classmates Liz Oakely(Maxwell) shows up looking very different since college and she wants to get some work done at Katie's practice. However when one of Katie's workers dies unexpectedly,Katie realises that Liz maybe behind this and that her new transformation could be more sinister.

Could Liz be morphing into Katie just to get her perfect life?. Overall this wasn't a bad film. The script was like something done by A. I,the acting was decent and the story is clearly ripping of the 90s thriller Single White Female with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Bridget Fonda(the premise with Leigh wanting to be like Fonda and vice versa).

If you like that movie then you'll love this.

"I don't want to hurt you, I want to BE you!!" Warning: Spoilers
That line above is actually hilariously (but very seriously) uttered by the crazed psycho towards our Lifetime heroine in this ridiculous obsession flick. There's so much that's bad about this one, but that line just sums up how absurdly bad it is. I howled with laughter when she said it, so the 1 star is for the laughs given.

The psycho chick has an obvious pattern and history of suing her doctors for malpractice yet the police don't bother to investigate that and take into consideration when she slaps a suit against the lead heroine.

The lead is no better because she never even mentions to the detective about the psycho's history of filing malpractice suits. It's bad writing because it's the first thing the lead would tell the detective when he informed her of the sexual harassment suit.

Then there's the hysterical killer perfume spray that the psycho sprays into her victim's faces and they literally drop dead on the spot in just 2 seconds from it lol. Please! The kills played like a comedy the way she'd spray her victims in the face, and they cough once and drop to the floor dead. Where can I get a bottle of this handy dandy little spray?!

And she kills one guy (the hubby of her first victim) in the open front doorway of her home on a busy city street where anyone passing by outside could see. Then she shuts her front door and casually walks upstairs leaving his dead body in her hallway.

What did she do with the body? Did she just leave him there to rot in her hall? And why didn't anyone wonder where he was when he never went home to his 2 little girls who were obviously alone in the house now since both their parents got a whiff of the killer spray and dropped dead.

The cop said that he'd call him because the dead guy's wife was the first victim, but no one wonders where he is after he's killed by the psycho. And there's his 2 little girls who couldn't be more than 10 because we see them playing in the background of an earlier scene, who don't seem to care that both Mommy and Daddy are dead and they're all alone in the house. Didn't they call 911 when Daddy never came home?! Days go by and no one is reporting him missing. It's like once he's dead, it's all dropped and forgotten.

Lifetime must really think viewers are too stupid to notice these painfully obvious plot holes that ruin the movie. This one was really bad and among one of their worst. A 1 star crap fest all around here.

And in the final showdown crazy psycho chick suddenly decides to use a gun over her magic killer spray. Why since it was so effective on everyone else? And heroine manages to bring hubby back to life after he gets a whiff of it in his face.

So why did the other victims drop dead in a millisecond from it yet heroine's hubby lives?! Did he hold his breath when he was sprayed? Gimme a break!!

Dumb movie. Dumb dumb dumb!!

Just call 911!
docbates2118 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie should have been over after about 20 minutes. When you have a restraining order against someone, and they break it...call 911.

When you make plans to meet someone after hours at their place of work, and when you get there, they are dead...call 911.

In a hotel room and you've shot a woman and your husband is laying dying on the floor...call 911.

So, that was my biggest issue with this poorly written movie: every character's complete oblivion to notifying the authorities when a crime has been committed. The second thing I took issue with was the lead character in the movie, Dr. Katie Jones, seemingly had no idea about how the world works. A clueless main character makes for a very bad movie. I know Lifetime Movie Network movies aren't always the best pieces of cinema, but this one...just stay away from this one.

Not a bad movie, but they looked nothing alike.

Warning: Spoilers
Decent thriller, but this would have been way more believable if "Liz" was portrayed by Katie's actress and Katie was played by maybe Natasha Henstridge. It was so unbelievable when right before the climax, the hotel clerk thought she'd already seen Katie. The obsession makes for a good storyline, but you gotta suspend your disbelief for the plastic surgery plot point. They could have even played it like she was 100% delusional and fooling no one. Nevertheless, it's worth a watch.

Wow this was bad

Warning: Spoilers
This was really bad. What a stupid premise. The patient didn't look anything like the plastic surgeon. At the end of the movie why did the villain switch to a gun instead of using the perfume? She would have killed the plastic surgeon. The acting was next-level bad. Really, really, bad movie.

Crazy patient story is quite believable
phd_travel9 January 2019
The wacko of the week is a jealous medical student turned patient who years later goes after her ex classmate who is now a happily married doctor (Sunny Mabrey) with a family.

Liked the way the family had each other's backs. Not the irritating unbelieving kid or spouse. The wacko behaviour isn't too unbelievable. The little spray that causes stroke is quite something.

Worth a watch.

Who writes these movies???
AMZCali20 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Just another bad story of a crazy person trying to destroy the lives of a family. We've seen this all done a million times by now. The lead actress Sunny Mabrey, as a doctor, mother and wife, did a very bad job. She was absolutely not believable as her face showed no emotion in any of the scenes that required extreme emotional expression. most of the other actors were just as bad. Combined with a very bad script, this just another TV movie you'll forget minutes after watching it.

Definitely one of the better lifetime movies.
tkaine39 July 2019
'The Wrong Patient' 7/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 = Light Praise I was delighted to see the beautiful Sunny Mabrey who starred in 'Species 3' about 15 years ago as the lead role. This film also features the equally beautiful Lindsay Maxwell. The description for this movie says it all the pace is good and doesn't drag. The acting across the board was very good as expected, Of course being a lifetime made for TV movie some scenes are a bit over dramatic but it doesn't feel cheesy or inauthentic. Outside of the psycho behavior portrayed by the antagonist they did a good job conveying a message a lot people who seek plastic surgery will take to heart. Yes I would recommend this as a good TV movie. My rating is 7 which garners light praise.

What a disaster.
digger-063583 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't expect much from this movie based on the "talent" signed on. Yet another Canadian movie with Canadian talent. The story was beyond stupid and the only thing worse was the pathetic acting on display. None of the females were even a little bit believable in their roles. Stilted dialogue with pauses that had no reason to exist made me think the actors were just trying hard to remember the next line of dialogue. The story, while supposedly a mystery is very predictable. While I will admit that the lead female actors could be considered attractive, that is not enough to make up for the dreadful script and acting.

Unless you are in love with one of the actors this movie is best avoided. You could do much better watching almost anything else. .

Killer Body: not your typical Lifetime Movie!
jaymelebarron3 January 2019
Killer Body is a slow-burn thriller with a more complex and nuanced approach to character development than your typical Lifetime Movie. Lindsay Maxwell, who plays the villainess Elizabeth Oakley, steals the show as a jealous and deeply troubled former medical school classmate of plastic surgeon, Dr. Katie Jones (played by Sunny Mabrey). Maxwell brings a depth to her performance that is both highly relatable and tragic. As Elizabeth becomes increasingly unhinged, the cracks in her outward confidence reveal a vulnerable and damaged individual. In this regard, the movie appears to play homage to the early '90s film Single White Female. Conversely, Sunny Mabrey's more subdued performance acts as a necessary counterbalance to Maxwell's and helps create a vivid contrast between hero and villain.

While the story itself conforms to the standard Lifetime stalker genre, the movie's focus on psychological character development and Maxwell's exceptional performance make this a must see for Lifetime Movie fans. 8 out of 10 stars.

Not even C grade actors
tommywalsh-0586417 June 2022
Without a doubt, one of the worst films I have ever watched. Mostly absurdly written. Way too many mistakes and flaws in the story. Quite pathetic the way the police investigation was written and acted.

OMG don't waste your time on this one.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel
sooz606922 October 2021
Don't waste your time with this badly acted movie. The plot is weak and the acting hammy. It makes 'Acorn Antiques' look like an Oscar winner. Never heard of any of the actors in it and for good reason.

Ha ha Oh USA at its best 🙄
jazzahi25 December 2023
So I only watched this as I was having a lame day watching all the crap on streaming and this one is one of the best or worst in the pile ha ha America with their hunt for perfection and plastic surgery just makes this semi believable I have no idea who any of these actors are (funny that) and they have got to be the worst ever they actually belong in their lame soap operas that we all laugh at. The story line is sooooooo old and this one has added some bizarre addings to an already stupid plot.

No one is that good at following people ALL the time and was so predictable at the very ending. Yes we all know there are a massive bunch of looneys out there but this one really takes the Mickey out of them I laughed most of the way through It should be in the comedy genre not drama ha ha.

The Magic of the Mona Lisa
lavatch23 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Hanging in the office of plastic surgeon Dr. Robin Pratt is a large print of Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa." This iconic image is a reference point for the search for feminine beauty in the modern age. "The Wrong Patient" describes the spirit of the age in these terms: slim waists, Brazillian butlifts, Double 'Ds'. Unfortunately, for the protagonist, Dr. Katie Jones, a voice from the past comes calling and her intent is retaliation on the scale of the avenging demon.

The past nemesis is Elizabeth "Liz" Karaminsky, who has recently changed her name to Liz Oakley. Miss Oakley has been obsessed with Katie since college days when Katie used her intelligence to breeze through medical school and her charm and beauty to win, woo, and wed their mutual instructor, Dr. Chris Jones.

Now, years later, Chris is recovering from a stroke and Katie is the family's principal breadwinner. But the family life is disrupted by a shocking number of incidents staged by Liz that may threaten Katie's livelihood and endanger her family.

One of the most interesting of the secondary characters is Dr. Robin Pratt, who is also a plastic surgeon though not on the level of Dr. Katie. There is a fascinating conversation in Robin's office where Katie learns details about the Mona Lisa painting that may help her stop the wacko Liz. Robin provides the clue that will unravel the mysterious deaths that are occurring in the wake of the tornado named Liz Oakley.

There is a great monologue on the end of the film where Dr. Katie deflates the popular impression of becoming "perfect" through the practices of her own profession. It is a veritable anatomical summary of the imperfections that always exist in the human face and how father time takes it toll on everyone who seeks to emulate the smile of the Mona Lisa.

CPR
amynda23 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Not really about the movie, but the main character Katie Jones did CPR with only 4 chest compressions and paused - 3 times, then stopped... that's only 12 compressions (with pauses). I'm pretty sure you should normally do 30 nonstop, then 2 breaths, and continue until help comes (if you are able to)... I don't think she could have in this movie. I think the movie the character Robin was already dead, so it didn't matter, but the CPR was not accurate - just in case anyone makes note of it for future CPR ! Am I wrong?!? ... I was intrigued by the movie, but wanted to share... just in case.
