Great twist in the middle, plus a terrific (updated) homage to Brian De Palma's "Blow Out". And although I'm not a fan of songs playing over the action (and didn't like it when it happened at the end of episode 2), this time for some reason it feels right - in fact, I replayed the sequence with the song several times because I liked it so much. 8/10.

Responsibility and loss

I am really glad I found this gem.

The entire cast gives great and memorable performances, the slow pace is a very welcomed change and philosophical questions are merely implied and not explained to death. Also the camera work and the production design deserve an honorable mention, the entire show feels genuinely new and original.

The story is not so much a science fiction plot as I expected, but a futuristic drama about responsibility and loss, and I suspect the impact on the viewers will depend very much on their individual life experience.

Overall a great storytelling experiment that will stick in the head for quite some time due to its style and the cast.

Weakest one of the episodes out so far...

Apart from the stellar beginning... if the previous two episodes felt like art, this third installment felt very much like a regular formulaic TV show. Barely any plot progression but most of all unbelievable situations for the sake of a twist that could only happen on television. Unfortunately, a bit of a letdown after the very strong first two episodes.

Overacted Drama

Warning: Spoilers
I'm on the fence with this show. Interesting premise but then you have the Lilly character who is one of the worst actors I've ever seen. That breakdown in The office which turns out to be faked was absurd. And then there are all the scenes of people just staring at things...supposed to be deep and artistic but it's actually just silly and boring.

In the balance

It's such a shame. I really do want to like this show. Alex Garland is such a interesting writer and the premise and Offerman are first rate but it has some serious flaws. The main actress is pretty bad especially at convincing emotion. The statue looks so silly as does the golden electro magnetic office. The spy stuff is also really dum at times. I am going to give it another ep but I it's hanging by a thread.

Lame history

Warning: Spoilers
'It was Oswald'.

That's what they say they saw when they took their backlooking quantum computer to the grassy knoll.

Before that Marilyn Monroe riding Arthur Miller.

Both lame, and low.

The second because it's not funny or cool or daring or anything, just disgusting as a choice.

The first because it was an unexpected and lame 'fact' put out there by a TV series.

I am quite sure Oswald wasn't visible on or from the grassy knoll, wherever he was, at a window without a gun or prone with a gun. But serves as nice example of computers outputting what has been input. Took me out of the series and was slightly annoying.

In ep2 they chose the Monty Python crucifiction method for Jesus, which was already strange, but who cares wherever the reported marks on his hands and feet stemmed from.

It's really very uninteresting bits of 'history' they're visiting, slightly controversial, but what's the point I start to wonder. Because it's lame.

Hope they have better on offer. I like the world and architecture and cinematography.
