Here we have the song "If You Really Love Nothing" by Interpol. Or I should say the music video for said song. This was released back in 2018, a little over a year ago and since then it has scored several millions of views on the world's biggest video website. Not a bad number, but also nothing out of the ordinary anymore by today's standards I suppose. Many of the viewers probably checked it out because of the inclusion of actress Kristen Stewart in here and that partially includes myself as well. Her male counterpart is played by Finn Wittrock, another actor I like, probably among my top3 favorites on American Horror Story, especially Freak Show. Good to see he got some awards recognition for that. But now back this 5-minute music video: The director is Hala Matar, a fairly prolific short film director in the last over five years and I think the camera work here is okay. Still the star is probably Stewart, not even Interpol and I must say I don't think i am really familiar with them. Their song isn't bad though this time, better than the visual side I'd even say, but that is mostly because the video didn't do too much for me. It is basically recordings from a party/club from beginning to end and while it is as a consequence a bit on the wild side, it still feels monotonous somehow and longer than it actually is and at five minutes, that is definitely a negative deal-breaker. I also like Stewart more with dark and long hair and I think she is stunning in general, but with platinum blonde really short hair as we see her in here not so much. Pity, I thought it was a thing of the past for her and 2018 anymore. Of course, it is okay as it is her choice alone which haircut to go for. Nonetheless, overall I say the video aspect here is not good enough for a positive recommendation and that is why overall, I give this one a thumbs-down. Skip it or just listen to the record.
