Good performances
Kingslaay8 February 2019
This episode doesn't convey too much for it's story, its somewhat similar to what's been shown and there are no curve balls. However the acting takes it to a new level. Jensen and Jared give some deep and powerful performances, one might say some of the best we've seen on the show. One of the many reasons we love this show is the brotherly bond and dynamic. The point is you didn't need a great story or build up in this episode the acting delivered everything. This is what makes shows like Game of Thrones so iconic because they also have great performances coupled by a great story line.

This was a touch & go kinda EP for me! ****POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT***

Warning: Spoilers
I was on the edge of my seat for this one. I'm glad that Nick finally gets some peace but we finally see him for who he really is when he walks out on his wife & son instead of giving them closure which I thought was a total d-bag move! It break's your heart he's spent a lot of time trying to avange his family only to turn around & do that to them because he wants Lucifer?! WTF Nick really, you're that pathic??! He finally got what he wanted or so it seems but it also seems like he was just trying to find out where Lucifer is to let him inside again which tells me that he didn't really care about his family's justice or he wouldn't have left them stuck & unable to move on. What a coward! Other than that Supernatural really needs to be nominated for awards already!!!!!!! OMG I can't wait to see Johns return!!! I'm super excited for that! Anyone else???

Supernatural is playing with my feelings again
Funkeysnow1 February 2019
This episode is the reason why supernatural is still going strong after all these years. No better duo in television better than the Winchester brothers.

They need all the acting awards
jiffyq3112 February 2019
Jared and Jensen prove once more that this show is way too overlooked by the awards powers that be. Their chemistry is beyond anything else I've seen on tv, and their portrayal of the Winchester boys feels as fresh as ever. No phoning it in for these actors. Mark Pellegrino deserves recognition as well. I am left rung out emotionally and impatient for what comes next!

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, Dean in that box. ALL THE FEELS. Season 14 has been merciless. And here's another example of an episode as to why.

RECOGNITION NOW, PLEASE!!!!
briannabelland2 February 2019
Seriously, this was the best acting from Jared and Jensen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They deserve an award each for their work, on this ep. The opening scene and then the closing scene were agonizing, excruciatingly painful and intense, and I couldn't look away. They were amazing, beyond brilliant in their performances and I really hope someone brings this episode to the attention of whatever judges for whatever award show that they'd be eligible for, at this point in the year. Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely beautiful.

This episode made me run for my feels, I'm not usually the kind of person to tear up watching shows, but this magnificent emotional acting sure had my tears flowing. I'm LOVING season 14 so far.

Episodes like THIS are what've kept us hooked for 15 years!

Warning: Spoilers
I wonder if this episode was actually meant to be #300 in the event that they couldn't get JDM to guest star in the next episode? After all, this was a PERFECT example of what makes "Supernatural" the show it is: the tight focus on the two brothers (notice how most of the secondary characters were either literally phoning it in like Cas or not in the episode at all, like Mary and Jack), their drive to save the world, even if it meant a sacrifice on their part, conflicting with the desire to protect each other? And then not one but THREE angsty bro-ments via the post-nightmare motel room scene, the "deathbed apology" in the car and then the finale, complete with a hug!!! And the cherry on top was the special musical score with the tubular bells that appears to have been produced just for this episode! Best episode of the season, IMO.

They've turned Supernatural into a soap opera.
nybbles10 February 2021
There were individual moments that were great, but the overall experience is a soap opera, even down to the style of camera shots. I am sad that Supernatural was cancelled. But honestly this episode is one of the reasons why it was cancelled. I love this show, but they have changed the feel of what this show is. It's like everyone was trying too hard in order to beef up their acting portfolio with emotional scene clips. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't our show anymore either. The vibe was off. It was tired and trying too hard to perk itself up.

The parallel is forced
CubsandCulture29 October 2021
This week's case like so many in the past is set-up to reflect the ongoing brotherly melodrama. Except in this case to get the analog up and running a whole new set of rules were created with little to no set-up. In the end this episode engages your attention but it is forced and it's clear the show is way past its prime.

I can't take it seriously...
shwetafabm9 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
If the options right now are 1. Throw Dean in a secure box in an ocean/2. Take out his archangel grace and give it to Jack which weakens him or makes him human whatever the result would possibly be a dead Dean but still better than trapped in eternity/3. Throw Dean in the box but keep him close till future knowledge/4. I don't even know what happened to the archangel blade... Then Spare me the melodrama when the second is better. I like the drama between the brothers but i can't take it seriously when we are supposed to pretend to ignore that the grace can be ripped out. Damn even Sam going to burn in hell with Michael for eternity did not get 10% of this drama. We went down this road already with the moc and that felt higher stakes. P. S. Saw last ep of S14, they definitely had the blade....
