The opening scene featuring the Hunter smoking on the veranda was shot on the exact same location as the HQ in David Lean's 1957 classic, 'The Bridge on the River Kwai'.
The film was heavily inspired in both look and tone by Francis Ford Coppola's 'Apocalypse Now', David Lean's 'Bridge on the River Kwai' as well as 'Ryan's Daughter' for the England-set scenes and Alejandro G. Iñárritu's 'The Revenant'.
Features the Seven Sisters cliffs in Sussex, which were also a prominent location in Hasler's previous film 'WWII: The Long Road Home'.
The kiss between the Hunter and his Wife on the beach was unscripted and improvised on the spot by Charlotte Peters, catching both co-star David Aitchison and director Elliott Hasler by surprise. However Hasler liked the take so much that it was incorporated into the finished film.
