Lackluster story and the acting...I mean I know we don't run to lifetime for Oscar worthy story or performances, but I do t understand how there can't be better acting. Just skip it.

Jenny Garth saves this movie
steenie-653918 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Would have been a better movie if there were better actors. Jenny Garth is the only one that can act here. The lady that plays Erica Hearns HORRIBLE. All I can say is thank God for Jenny Garth. The rest of the actors are robotic. The dead husband is ok in the flashbacks.

Watchable...

...run-of-the-millish standard TV thriller.

Not bad but not memorable either.

Poor
ipandrews-4176011 February 2020
Some of the most comically poor acting I have ever seen. They all seem way out of their depth. Its not aided by some quite annoying incidental music.

Dreadful movie bad acting especially from Ed with the little top knot in his hair & the (actress) and I use that term loosely, with the long red hair very unconvincing, then the teenage girl and boy, plot was awful...

Terrible
carolynocean24 March 2021
This movie is so bad. The acting really was awful , in fact it was'nt really acting, more like standing around and delivering not very good lines !!!! I mean , Kathy the heart surgeon, turned private detective was so unconvincing as a recently widowed mother, daughter April equally as bad . And as for the rest of the cast, it just got worse ! And I may be wrong but I dont think the irritating background music stopped once, maybe they were hoping it would drown out the bad dialogue ! And as for the ending , it was like a school play !!!! To sum it up in one word " Terrible "

I liked the movie!

The movie and plot were pretty good. Jennie was superb as usual. Luca did pretty good as well, guess that makes sense with her pedigree. But wow that red head was horrible I felt like she ruined the whole movie and should have been recast!!

Appalling acting

This movie had me in stitches with how terrible the acting is. Worst part is, I've looked up the actors and they're cast in another 40 movies. How?!

The Man Who Knew Too Much
lavatch19 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This macabre tale focuses on the family of investigator David Meyer, whose research has identified banker Erica Hearns at the heart of a massive fraud and corruption scheme. The amoral Hearns assigns her goon Ed the task of murdering David and making it appear as a suicide. David's wife Kathy, who is a heart surgeon, is not fooled by the ruse and spends the film assembling the paper trail that leads back to Erica.

While the performances were top-notch, especially the actress playing the caring doctor and mom Kathy, the narrative design was routine and predictable. Along with Erica and Ed, David's co-worker John sold out his old college buddy, then sought to cover up the crime. The essential crime scenario is in place by the midpoint of the film with no mystery or suspense.

In the meantime, Erica has enlisted her nephew Damon as a spy to infiltrate the Meyer family by becoming the boyfriend of the Meyers' daughter April (Apple). Caught in the middle, Apple becomes the hostage that Erica will use to get back the files and recordings that implicate her in fraud and murder.

There were some good clues left behind by David, including the key to his locker left in the book of the story of the Velveteen Rabbit and phone buried in the garden. Kathy's bestie Michelle, who is also a doctor, relies on sign language at a key juncture of the action to warn Kathy. The motivation of Kathy to discover the truth about her husband and her pursuit of justice hold the film together until the criminal Erica is finally exposed in the frantic climactic scene.

Stellar cast and score!
paulgibson-2980627 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This thoroughly enjoyable cinematic feast is enhanced greatly by a stellar cast at the very top of their game and a haunting score written by the excellent Steve Yeaman.

Without giving too much away for fear of spoiling your viewing enjoyment, a guy finds out about a banking fraud. He is shot dead and his wife tries to prove he didn't commit suicide. Her (and her daughter's) life are put in danger and much murderous mayhem ensues throughout. The scene where Jennie finds about her husband's death is particularly poignant and certainly tugs at the heart strings. There are several villainous characters but the most memorable is Erica Hearns (played by the outstanding Angelica Bridges.) She steals every scene and it is plainly obvious to the viewer that Ms Bridges puts her heart and soul into the role.

It is a pity that Hunter Jones had such a small part as The Paramedic but it is hoped that an actor with such natural talent will no doubt be offered more rewarding roles in the future.

The rollicking score only heightens the tension throughout the film and enhances the viewer's delectation.

Ultimately, this magical movie acts as a cautionary tale to married men not to snoop into the fraudulent activities of bankers and to young ladies everywhere, not to date the nephews of fraudulent bankers who know some very dodgy characters who are handy with a gun.

Thoroughly recommended.

Truly atrocious to watch
peaceloveandskunk31 October 2022
Subpar movie, with actors so bad they had me watching the first minutes thinking it was a parody movie. Music seems picked from talent shows, and is together with the oversaturated colors makes the whole thing look like a cheap commercial. Screenwriting looks like it's been done by a naive 16yo, plot looked boring as hell too. Really an AI could make a better movie than this. It's not even trashy to the point of being funny, it's just supermarket frozen food. Would avoid even spending more words on how bad this film is, if it wasn't for the minimum requested characters for a review on this site.
