Uncertainty in the Throne
Hitchcoc25 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
There are a couple issues at work here. One is Albert's need for attention. He is taking on the idea of a big technology exposition, inviting numerous countries to attend. Of course, it would be expensive. Victoria makes an offhand comment and nearly plunges England and Greece into war. Oh, and that stupid Duchess finally goes too far (fair or unfair) and incites that psychotic husband of hers. It will be interesting to see how this is resolved.

Interesting episode

Finally! We get to se Albert and Victoria doing something else besides of fighting. It again feels like season 1. In this episode, Victoria was trying really hard to regain Alberts's love and adoration. I feel bad for Sophie, who knows what will her husband really do to her now when he knows about her affair... Princess Feodora is bringing her daughter to palace...who knows what are these two up to...are they going to unite against Victoria? Who knows, we'll have to wait for new episodes.

Excellent

Warning: Spoilers
OK so some of these people/ characters never existed ... but its the same in most dramas , stuff is added for " dramatic effect " . I quite like the duchess and thoroughly despise her dreadful husband . Its always nice to see a servant go " up " in the world too .

And I'm glad that Victoria and Albert finally stop arguing. I always thought that they were the " perfect " couple ! It's good to see they were like the rest of us .

I've learned lots about this historical couple from this great series and I'm very disappointed to see that so far ( Feb 2023) that there are no plans for a fourth season of it !!

I'm excited tho to watch the next few/last episodes .

Brings to life some forgotten and fascinating history
michaelmross-662-8221082 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If this were a less than great historical drama, it would not have included an amazing almost forgotten piece of 19th century history. Palmerston invents gunboat diplomacy with suitable bravado in the Don Pacifico affair - sending a naval squadron to Greece for one British subject. It would have been easy to ignore this and just focus on the Crystal Palace. But the story draws these threads together as both requiring resolve and the courage of your convictions - both for Palmerston and of course Albert.

Deviated from the historical

Warning: Spoilers
This entire season of Victoria feels as though it's been framed around the completely fictitious disruption caused by the presence of the queen's half sister. It's been an element that has stretched the whole season to this point and I've found it redundant and distracting. Also, the subplot of the sad duchess has been taking too much airtime. I've found this season overall to be less enjoyable than the previous two.

Beware the side plots.
facebook-835-88996326 February 2019
I have been enjoying _Victoria_ greatly. Well acted, beautiful production. Telling a tale about historical figures keeps the story mostly grounded and sets the direction, though I accept the farcical deviations as norm for this sort of light entertainment.

However, as much as I enjoy the subplots of fictional secondary characters I am not at all interested in seeing those side plots spun off into silly soap operas. Thus far _Victoria_ has kept a pretty tight ship, but this latest installment, and the previews for the next, clearly indicate Sophie and Joseph are about pull up oars and head for rough waters.

Please, please don't capsize the boat for a silly soap opera.

Bad lifetime movie

Warning: Spoilers
I get the whole license thing and that Albert and Victoria fought sometimes. He would never cheat on her especially with her hag sister ( I didn't know she had a sister)who looks old enough to be his mom. Oh and having the duchess be dumb enough to go home to her husband? The only good bits are with palmerston and when bertie the blonde kid shows up.
