Curtis Johnson (Dwight Henry) is a mentally ill man living in Detroit with his mother. He has a great high school basketball player constantly reliving the moment he won the city championship. Dre Washington (Alex Henderson) is never picked for basketball. Curtis agrees to coach Dre if Dre helps him find his championship ring, which was stolen from him.
