I've not actually written a review before but felt the need for this, otherwise I am doing this show an injustice.

This show masterfully toys with your emotions, but in a great way. After watching tv pretty much my entire life, I've felt that I can easily predict what is going to happen, but I cannot stress how happy I am that ozark constantly proves me wrong. The character Ben, as I have read in many other reviews, is so well portrayed Tom Pelphrey that is would be astounded if wasn't at least nominated for an Emmy, with his taxi meltdown it's impossible to not feel immense sympathy for the character, but also realistically present mental illness to a level that I can only compare to the ability of Joaquin Phoenix in joker. Then my final note is that Jason Bateman, playing Marty my favourite character in the show, again amazes me with his performance, it's a sin he hasn't won his nominations, proving that he has a acting range allowing him to do serious drama and comedy. I hope that they return for a season 4.

THAT FREAKING ENDING!!!
koxielny-371654 April 2020
This show never fails when it comes to a season finale. What an ending!! Everything about this season was so good, especially the acting. Tom Pelphrey deserves an emmy for his role and so does Laura Linney. I just can't wait for the new season. Oh and Marty Byrde is still a freaking g.

Let's take a moment to acknowledge the writers: 👏👏👏👏👏

Season 3 is one of the best of any TV show I've seen, and 100x better than the previous two seasons. I hated the fact I had to wait two years for season 3, but it was worth it for this type of outstanding and near perfect writing, especially these last two episodes. The writers have their work cut out for them in season 4 to top season 3. They need to be nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes. Wow is all I can say for the season finale.

I wrote review when I have watched first episode and predicted that this series is going to be on a whole another level. But this was still wayyy...more better than i've ever dare to imagine! Writing, phenomenal directing and:that Insane acting: if that Ben characher acting isn't emmyworth acting I don't know what is. Tension, atmosphere, filmimg locations, unpredictable plot twist, everything was just stunning. I have rated this series 9/10 stars. It just increased to ten. This is maybe on my top 10 series list know. Bravo! If Helen was Fring, who's the real Heisenberg?

Please don't make us wait 2 years for season 4!
monkeysuncle-4307010 April 2020
I haven't been this enthralled by a season of television for a long time. Season 3 of Ozark is easily the best yet, with multiple episodes and a final scene that left my jaw on the floor and tears in my eyes. Jason Bateman and Laura Linneys performances are at the best they've ever been. The acting, writing, direction and character development is spellbinding, special shout-out to Tom Pelphrey in his emmy-worthy performance and the amazing direction of Alik Sakharov on the last few episodes. The only thing I'm sore about is the gap between seasons, I know you can't rush quality programming like this but the gap between 2 & 3 was excruciating, and S4 will probably take longer because of damn coronavirus. But the wait will definitely be worth it and I'm starting season 1 again now! Well done to everyone involved, absolutely stellar work.

Best season yet.
meshuggah31528 March 2020
Season 1: 3/5 Season 2: 3.5/5 Season 3: 4/5 Clearly the season get better and better. Season 4 will be no different. The set up that this show does for the next seasons are amazing. And the final episode of season 3 was masterful at setting up season 4. Ben character was Emmy winning good; at least a nomination anyway. DARK and OZARK are the best drama shows in modern television.

This season ended just the way it started
Funkaairo29 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Cold, gruesome and non censored violence. They managed to build up quite the tension near the end, and boy, that tension paid off. The series started with a slice and ended with an awesome bang. Greatly written series, and I am not ashamed to admit i watched the entire series in 2 days, just because it was too awesome from start till finish.

No characters were despicable to the point i couldn't stand them, they all had their own qualities and brought their own set of cards to the table.

This ending was frightening, thrilling, crazy, insane, yet i loved every second of it.

Season Shocker Ending!
phneely-351-44353531 March 2020
I never saw the last episode ending like it did, season 3 episode 10. I thought the writers where going to leave a cliffhanger. I need to go back and rewatch seasons one and two. I agree with another reviewer the actor who played Ben not only deserves an Emmy, but he deserves an Oscar, and a Golden Globe. I remember his character on the television series "Banshee". The actor who plays Ruth (Julia Garner) has become my favorite actor. The whole cast is Outstanding. I hope there will be a season four, if not this was a season shocker ending, which is fine with me.

Excellent (spoilers)

Warning: Spoilers
Amazing season. Love this show and it didn't disappoint. Can we please give Laura Linney her Emmy now? Brilliant work, especially her breakdown in the van. Jason Bateman manages to be such a fine actor, he mines a character that could've easily fallen into just the brooding silence of Ray Donovan's Schreiber (of which I am not a fan at all) into far more. He really dug into Marty and the scene where they have it out in front of the hilariously doomed therapist is almost up there with Tony and Carmella's fight in their pool house in Whitecaps. Ruth is wonderful, and the real tourdeforce was the actor playing Ben. I've not seen him previously, but he was wonderful. Helen, so glad we got to see more of her and I'll miss her. Wendy was right in Season 2, but she's way wrong here and I presume it will cost them even more in Season 4. If that is the final season (which I hope it isn't), the kids are now at odds with Jonah now realizing just how ruthless and kingpin mom is, and who knows what he may do with that. Darlene I love but the scenes with Wyatt, well, had to fast forward for fear of projectile vomiting. Wish they hadn't done that, but looks like we will get Ruth, Wyatt and Darlene vs Marty and Wendy next season and I will be here for it! Bravo.

Not sure what to think about it
etangsalzer1 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm concerned. I feel like the quality of this awesome series is going downhill. It looks the authors had a hard time trying to give us the best season 3, and they eventually end up with this. The situation is basically the same for episode 1 to episode 8: Marty and Wendy don't trust each other and are fighting against one another. You know they're eventually get back together, yet you'll have to watch 9 episodes for it to happen. At a moment, Marty gets abducted, and just when you think he actually might be in danger, he is sent back home. There are some flashbacks here and there which lead to nowhere, except for a arcade game that Marty buys and plays with sometime. Plus we learn that Wendy has a brother, who's bipolar, he falls in love with Ruth, does something stupid and then gets killed. I'm overall frustrated, because I think that whole season could have fitted in three-four episodes in the rythm of the first two seasons, which leads me to the end of the series: it's a fricking cliffhanger! Can you believe that? In Ozark? Come on, the showrunners can do far better than this. I'm frustrated for i think that most of the story in this season was unnecessary, which is a clear problem because you don't have a real conclusion to the story. I'm rooting for season 4, which will come out hopefully a year and a half from now, and am frustrated because I feel like this season was not dense enough. Yet it ls still one of my favorite series. I sincerely hope season 4 will be better than this, but I can't help to think about all those series which were awesome for 2 seasons and after that the quality of it started going downhill, until it becomes awful to watch and simply get cancelled. Please make sure this dosen't happen to Ozark, and give it a clean and awesome ending.

Major plot holes
StevieG33817 June 2020
The finale is not bad but has a couple major plot holes, it basically makes the mob out to be a complete joke of a group, for example.

I honestly couldn't watch another full season with Darlene doing what she likes so I hope they stop completely overplaying her - she can do what she likes to the Mexican Cartels and the Mob and absolutely no repercussions. This episode is particularly bad for her doing what she likes, Al Capone wasn't as untouchable as her.

I was really really scared that I would not like this season finale. However it was better than expected and really intense.

Just 1 thing I did not get and it is the image of Jonah shooting the window down...If anybody can help me on this?

This finale is a wild ride of subtle tension that builds up almost to unbearable levels only to be released with a loud gunshot. And then you're left there, black screen and credits rolling, speechless. Can't wait to see what they do next.

Well written, subdued and violent
xclbr28 March 2020
It's brilliantly written, directed in brilliant detail and well acted without a lot of fluff. It may be similar to other dramas but there's no denying drugs are bad and life is agonizingly entertaining on Ozark.

Tom Pelphrey deserves an Oscar...
mtns-7558330 March 2020
Amazing acting throughout the season by Tom Pelphrey (Ben Davis). I found myself losing interest after a somewhat lackluster season 2 but this entire season was spectacular from start to finish and cannot wait for season 4.

Warning: Spoilers
To be honest this series for me who watched with my friend for 4 days straight was so readable I know from the beginning of the final session Helen would die I swear because this how all the series works they tend to give more space to a secondary character and give more suspense like they do to Ben Sorry my english I tried to be more clear as possible but I have so much words to say for elaborating this but english is my third language so I tried my best

Complete season review
nishantsalhotrans31 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
At the end of season 2, the state of the story is:

Marty and Wendy find themselves deep in the cartel business. Their kids know everything and are pretty smart. Wendy is being pushed by the writers as being the main protagonist. She has orchestrated ways to keep the money laundering going and is now leading the way. She murdered a dude and now Marty is terrified of who she has become as she smiles and enjoys the family photo in the last scene of season 2.

Pretty damn awesome till this point. Now season 3:

Out of nowhere, Wendy's brother comes into the picture. His sole purpose is to make Wendy look like Walter White/Don Corleone as she has to murder her own brother for the FAMILY. THAT is his sole purpose and THAT is the entire season. Pathetic!

In terms of the actual story, it went nowhere. Writing and direction are weak. Cartel war could have been shown in a much better way. Marty's torture scenes were a joke. The drug lord is a joke as well. Season 1 had so much better villains like the redneck and the Mexican who dies. Season 1 was a classic and this season is nowhere near in any department.

This season was a drag and could have been avoided entirely. I am sitting at home during this lockdown with a lot of free time and still I feel like this was a waste of 9 hours.

Warning: Spoilers
THE BEST SEASON FINALE IN HISTORY. Man you do not know how unexpected it was when Helen got killed but it made my jaw drop. I have never been so happy before. One of the greatest finales of any other Netflix series I've ever seen. Season 3 of Ozark has been the best season so far. Awesome show, stunning actors and amazing writers. Keep it up with the guys.
