I don't know who edited this episode...

...but whoever it was is a Jedi at their craft. When it was over I was left stunned. I sat there thinking, 'I just experienced the best edited hour of television this year'. Sure enough, just checked and this is up for an Emmy. Some others think so too.

Parts Unknown has a long history of amazingly crafted episodes, but this one in particular was very cathartic, immersive, powerful, dense, educational, edgy... It FELT like what I'd imagine Anthony's spirit to be if distilled into motion pictures.

I've been a fan since A Cook's Tour, and can't fathom a better send off for Tony than this amazing labor of love. Again, I'm stunned.

I wish ZPZ and the Parts Unknown crew the very best in life beyond this show. Some had a chance to speak earlier this season, but I don't think it was coincidence they gave John Lurie the last word in this episode when speaking about the Lower East Side in the 70's. I'm pretty sure it's how the crew feels collectively about Parts Unknown:

"Does it have to end badly? I mean, I'm glad I survived it. I'm glad I still got my own liver. I'm glad I lived through it, but it's kind of-- I don't know. I don't know how to add that up. I'm sure glad I didn't miss it." -John Lurie
