- The clinical research into the use of multi-angle shooting (Ipov3) in therapeutic systems starts from a comic psychodrama of [name/nm0347842] and Ottavio Rosati realized for "Fantasmi" (2002) origin of Fantasmi al Valle (2012).
- After the analysis of the strange psychoplay for Fantasmi al Valle (2012) with the popular actor Leo Gullotta, Plays organized in Tuscany a research on the therapeutic and documentary importance of iPov3 multi-angle video footage. The goal is to promote a Group Video Narration Study Center and a study day to highlight the importance of a technology that allows therapists, teachers and psychologists to document and study their work with a multi-angle audio-video recording of professional level. Comparing the different points of view naturally does not have the artistic function of classic editing but has an extraordinary importance when it comes to studying an event to shed light on the truth and avoid harassment, trauma and injustice. Yet in our society this happens slowly and with difficulty. Why in our society is a heuristic tool like this hard to find its full application? Plays research would have partly explained it: there is a type of representation that reveals the truth and one that instead pretends and hides. Just as there is a psychodrama that entertains and consoles and a psychodrama that reveals and transforms. The memory offered by the full and multi-angle video is of great importance not only in the clinic and in group psychotherapy but also in work groups, boards of directors, schools and legal processes. The function of the video as a third term in certain cases corresponds to that of the father who frees the children from the primary fusion with the mother. In all these cases the objective of the filming is to unmask the affective and para-linguistic manipulation in group contexts.—Luciana Santioli
- Between 2012 and 2014 (after the first experiments with the actror Leo Gullotta for Teatro Stabile di Catania) theoretical-practical research project about the therapeutic and documentary importance of multi-video iPov3 video shooting (usable on Apple platform) was born in 2012, continuing the research that Plays inaugurated in Rome in May 2012 with Pirandello's socioplay Fantasmi al Valle (2012) whith five video operators. The aim is to promote a Study Center on Video Narration of Groups and a day of study to highlight the importance of a technology that allows therapists, teachers and psychologists to document and study their work with a multi-angle audio-video recording of professional level. The comparison of the different points of view naturally does not have the artistic function of classical editing but has an extraordinary importance when it comes to studying an event to shed light on the truth and avoid abuse, trauma and injustice. However, in the groups (family and work) that maintain power through manipulation, falsity and hypocrisy, our proposal arouses strong resistance and misunderstanding and enters slowly. The main use of multi-angle shooting today is what makes it the television for football. Why in our society a heuristic instrument like IPOV3 does not find its full application? Plays' research would have explained it in part: there is a theater that reveals and a theater that pretends. Just as there is a psychodrama that entertains and comforts people and a psychodrama that reveals and transforms groups and persons. The memory offered by the integral and multi-angle video is of great importance not only in clinical and group psychotherapy but also in working groups, boards of directors, schools and legal processes. The function of video as the third term in some cases corresponds to that of the Father who frees the children from the primary fusion with the Mother. In all these cases the goal of the shooting is to unmask affective and para-linguistic manipulation in group contexts.
Plays organizes four meetings 'in situ' with the operators of the Day Center for the disabled Il Poderucciodi of Buonconvento (Siena), managed by a cooperative. The place is comfortable, spacious, very clean but, despite everything, it seems a bit sad. Here the users arrive in the morning by bus to return home from their families around 5 pm. A group of young women is involved with great commitment and in conducting the meetings, dedicated to the difficulties of this complex and poorly paid job. Plays team uses group analysis and psychoplay. Cesare Bifulco and other reinforcement operators set up rooms for iPov3 in the corners of the gym and on the ceiling to resume not a reality show but the psychodramatic representation of the operators' burnout, their stress, the conflicts between them and the problems with the users, families and managers of the cooperative. About twenty operators will appreciate the intervention that leads to a clear and unpredictable improvement of their mutual understanding and their relationship with the parents of their clients. In fact, the reduction of conflicts in the working group has a positive effect on the mood of the users of Poderuccio and, consequently, on their behavior at home. But it is not enough. In psychodramas, the operators reveal their contractual problems and compare themselves with the character of the cooperative leader who is never present but is represented by an auxiliary ego. In role-playing they protest for a series of unfulfilled promises and above all for their elusive and manipulative behavior. However, when the time comes for a confrontation with the real director based on video footage, some workers are pulled back for fear of being fired from work. Three more meetings take place at the Bellemme di Siena's day center for the mentally handicapped (Riabilita-Onlus Association) where we organize psychoplay groups that have operators and users as protagonists. Patients with psychiatric problems participate willingly in the sessions that take place outdoors under a vineyard with the collaboration of Isis, the sweet parrot Cacatoa who, as an ego-auxiliary pet, gives our plays a few drops of freshness and spontaneity. Among the most intense psychoplay is that of Francesca that ends with a catharsis of an unhappy relationship between her and her father. In the final phase of sharing and analysis, Francesca asks us: "You always talk about this psychoplay, but what does it mean? What is it?" None of us has time to answer because Gino, another user of the day center, who has remained closed until now in an inaccessible silence, he opens his mouth and, in general amazement, says: "Play ... it's game!" Then he comes back to silence like a character from Beckett. Finally, Luciana Santioli organizes at the Auditorium of Chianti Banca two workshops with IPOV3 shooting based on the use of the action figures that Ottavio Rosati uses in the technique of LA SCACCHIERA And in this situation the use of multi-angle shooting proves valuable for the participants who want to deepen the analysis of their plays.
