The lakeside location design in "Underwater Mouse" draws its inspiration from the many lakes throughout the Ottawa, Canada, region, where "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" is produced.
There are only a few stories in which we find Mouse and Oliver playing and hanging out together without the rest of Mouse's gang. We see this in episode 122.
In "Underwater Mouse," we see the wonderful relationship that Mouse and his friends have with the older population in their community - a great example for our young viewers.

In "Bowling," we visit the local bowling alley for the second time in the series - the first time being in "Toy Round Up," when Mouse tracks down and saves a toy dino.
