Somewhere in Time (1980)
Include as a "plot summary"
Richard Collier is just not happy in Chicago of the 1980's. Even though he is a successful playwright, he feels like something is missing in his life, but he can't get a fix on just what it is. One afternoon, while celebrating the success of his latest play, an old woman shows up at the party, hands him a pocket watch, and says, "Come back to me". Trying to track the woman down, Collier learns about transportation through time, checks into the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan, and ends up in the year, 1906. He meets Elyse McKenna, the most highly regarded actress of her day, they fall in love, and they overcome numerous obstacles thrown up by William Fawcett Robinson, McKenna's manager. However their relationship is not to be, at least in 1906, and they lose each other, but in the end, love conquers all. Jane Seymour is at her most beautiful in, what I consider to be, the greatest love story of all

The awkening land is a 6-hour TV miniseries which relates the building of the Midwest through the experiences of one family, the Lucketts of Ohio. The principal character is Sayward Luckett, played by Elizabeth Montgomery in what many consider to be her finest performance. Sayward marries the eductated, but irresponsibile local attorney, called "The Solitary" by the townspeople, and she raises her children and grandchildren through trials and tribulations, holding the family together through the most difficult of circumstances. A tribute to the American spi
The Letters (1973)
Great Film, Unknown, Underrated
I loved "The Letters" (1973, made-for-TV). Why is it never shown on TV or available in video rental? There are lots of people out here with a bent for romantic themes. For example, "Somewhere in Time" is the greatest love story ever made, hated by the critics, but loved by the fans. Today, 20 years later, the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan has an annual "Somewhere in Time" Weekend, and it is always a sell-out.. Shows what the critics know.
