Knight Rider 2010 (1994)
Do not confuse crappy knight rider spinoffs
I saw a comment on this movie that claims it is the one with the cameo appearance by TV's Scotty from Star Trek. This is incorrect. there were two Knight Rider Spin off movies in the 90s. Both were crappy. This one was made in 1994, knight rider 2010, without any people from the original TV show. It take place in a Mad Max style future where this guy either finds or builds a new kit. In many ways, a blatant and poor rip off of mad max... as the guy drives from place to place in this post apocalyptic future. The earlier one was knight rider 2000... from 1991... equally crappy, this one starred David Hasselhoff and yes... had a silly cameo appearance y James Doohan as himself. Avoid both.
Novocaine (2001)
Um ...dentist
Does this have anything to do with Little Shop of Horrors. Steve Martin played a dentist in that. That was a good movie... so based on my having seen Little shop of Horrors I'm going to say this is a good movie as though I've seen it and then never watch it anyway because I feel like I've already seen it.
(if you take this seriously you're crazier than I am)
Dungeons & Dragons (2000)
So Bad... it's Good
This is the perfect Mystery Science Theatre 3000 movie. When Ridly goes, "When was the last time you saw the river on fire?" I turn to my friend and say, 'Cleveland, 1969'. And it's got Tom Baker in it to boot(a Dr Who fans dream)! Rent this movie and watch it with a bunch of loud obnoxious friends.
Memento (2000)
This movie will mess you up and you'll beg for more. SPOILERS ABOUND
This movie is so amazing. But it freaks me out. I didn't want to leave the house the next day but I forced myself to in order to avoid waking up in the same room not knowing where or when I am. Some of the films detractors say there are plot holes in it. But I think most of them can be explained away be the human condition (people in the movie making dumb decisions and forgetting things). I noticed one or two of mistakes in peoples assessment because they weren't really paying attention (Carry an Moss takes pity on him and helps him after she manipulates him but it's hard to tell because you see the action backward).
This is what the film is about. A man who is constantly forced to trust his instincts and the mistakes and victories that go with that. It's not about philosophy or society cause frankly, most people don't think about those things on a day to day basis. It's about one guy in a unique and truly frightening situation. A couple of words of warning. This is not a sit back and relax film. Throughout the movie you find yourself trying to connect the dots. You think you're looking for one very simple thing; who killed this guys wife, but the real answer turns out to be something far more simple and sinister. There are a couple of lies they throw in at the end so you can feel like there's unanswered questions but I prefer to chalk that up to Eddy's lies.
