Great show
18 December 2015
I do not understand all the horrible reviews by people on here about this show. All I know is my "7" year old daughter simply loves it. Has it ever occurred to all these sophisticated viewers that kids are the target since it is from Disney? People need to get over themselves and move on since they are clearly just too smart for a show about a talking dog. I do not get to watch many shows with her where I know the content will be safe and family friendly. For that reason alone this show is outstanding. Kids grow up too fast and having a simple show for them is just fine. I am sure those who find this not worthy can find some other shows they can match wits with.

Jackass 3D (2010)
8/10
For the most part very funny - some gross but overall entertaining
16 October 2010
Very entertaining if you enjoy seeing guys beat the crap out of themselves! I prefer the pranks and stunts over the bad potty humor. The worst was the volcano - I could really do without that vision. Of course they have the usual kick in the balls stunts and I never fail to cringe. I cannot believe this does not do serious damage. Obviously if you are looking for any type of meaning or political statement, you should go to see a documentary. But if you just want to laugh at some very stupid stunts, then this movie should not disappoint. The jackass boys are standing up to the test of time, I just wonder how much more of this their bodies can take? Hopefully one or two more times. Stay safe guys.

Wanted (2008)
3/10
I just do not get it
30 June 2008
I do not understand how any logical person can find this film (I am being nice) entertaining. The movie viewing public has only ourselves to blame when it comes to Hollywood and them release crap like "Wanted". Over the top action scenes with totally unbelievable stunts. The characters are not even likable which may have given me something to appreciate. I can suspend belief in sci-fi and other genres, but Wanted is just crap in my humble opinion. Obviously I am in the minority here with this movie receiving a 7.7 rating. My guess the A. Jolie lovers are giving the high marks for this so-called entertainment..

So BAD is really is BAD.
24 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I have no idea who these others are but this movie is plain awful. They have to prop up Joe Pesci when he is a minor character. Bait and switch movie just like the studios did with Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey, etc. The DVD I watched states "this obscure gem revolves around JOe Pesci's MOB character who is a hothead that start a war" etc. etc. Joe plays the part of Joe, he does not even carry a gun, plays a whimpy character and gets SPOILER - (whacked). So much for the movie revolving around Pesci. The only halfway memorable scene was a bad attempt at comedy when they passed gas while waiting for a score. If you watch this movie after reading this, I warned you. Please stop and do not lose 87 minutes of your life.

Outstanding!
5 February 2005
For whatever reason, I did had reservations about going to see Million Dollar Baby. I am extremely happy that I decided to go because this movie was totally entertaining from start to finish. It simply grabs you and does not let up. Million Dollar Baby will be a keeper for my video collection! Eastwood, Freeman, and Swank all give superb performances and I sincerely hope they are given their due at the Oscars in March. The character's developed throughout the film and the actor's portrayal of them made the characters believable. Granted a few of the fight scene's were a bit over the top but then it is still Hollywood. What I like the most is the lack of special effects and the total concentration on the development of the story. Borrowing from Roger Ebert: Thumbs Way UP!

More fiction than anything else
3 July 2004
While some is true some key points are not. Bush being misquoted, UBL's family flying away while US jets are grounded, etc. Moore has a great gift for making movies but that is all this is, a movie and to take it one step further a nice work of fiction. Maybe if he would not pick and choose quotes and insert them in the story to make his point it would have been better. Nothing more than a lot of liberal propaganda but it is good for a laugh. It is fine that he does not like President Bush and Moore has every right to put what he wants into "his movie" but the number of people who actually believe it is all fact is down right frightening. Maybe his quote about Americans is more accurate than I thought. Enjoy but at least get the facts straight.

This Movie Died Today
25 November 2002
I am and always have been a huge Bond fan (my weight does not count) and this latest attempt was barely OK. Too many scenes were over the top and simply unbelievable even for Bond. Speaking of Bond, this movie seem to make him the co-star to Jinx (Halle Berry) which he should not have been. Miranda Frost Rules! I am not a big Halle fan and she added nothing to the James Bond genre. She is simply not believable as a spy or a fighter for that matter. I saw this movie with some friends and they only cared about her looks which she does look great, but she did nothing else for the movie. Maybe bring her back as a minor character but no more. The theme song by Madonna is absolutely horrible!!!!!!!!! How did this song make it past the cutting room floor? How did Madonna's cameo make it past the cutting room floor? She also added nothing.

Judi Dench as usual was superb! Back to the movie - most will find it entertaining but I left feeling cheated out of a true bond movie. I wish they would leave the political correctness at home and if Halle Berry wants to be a spy in the movies then let Hollywood start up a new spy gal genre. Hopefully it will work and she will stay out of the Bond scripts. I give it a 5.

Dear Wife (1949)
8/10
A good, predictable, but funny movie
13 November 2002
I never heard about this movie until I came across it playing on AMC (when it was worth watching. ( hate all the changes they have made!)while channel surfing. No spoilers here, just a typical love story that actually have some funny characters who devleope throughout the story. This is the sequel to "Dear Ruth". Dear Ruth was a story of how a little sister writing love letters to a member of the Armed Forces and pretended to be her older sister. Well you know it would work out so now we have Dear Wife which tells the story of how their relationship progresses with all of the housing shortages after WWII. There is another movie in this trilogy, I think it is called Dear Brat. The center of attention is focused on the younger sister. If you like just plain old funny movies you should enjoy Dear Wife and Dear Ruth.

I hope this movie makes $100 million!!!!
26 October 2002
I really hope this show make a gazillion dollars so they will do it again. I laughed from start to finish except for about 10 minutes where I was totally grossed out. If you like the show you will like the movie. I guess it is not a movie but it sure is a lot more entertaining than most shows or movies that try to get our hard earned money. No plot, just 1 1/2 hours of Jackass! At least these guys are honest about what you will see and try to not to disguise a really bad movie by showing the best 30 seconds in the trailers. Hats off to the jackass guys! They delivered the goods. If you do not like slapstick then do not see this show. I give it a 9/10. It would be a 10/10 if not for the gross out toilet humor.

The Ring (2002)
1/10
This is not scary
21 October 2002
Warning: Spoilers
After reading many of the reviews listed here for this movie I was looking forward to seeing the "Ring". I could not believe how bad this movie was and I like a lot of movies and am not the type to bag on a movie just because it is popular. (SPOILERS) Too many holes: how did she make the tape? why was she evil? how did the images get on the tape? the images of herself were on the tape also? Why did the police not care about any of the people dying? Was there a phone in the well? (being sarcastic) I could go on but will not. I have given this awful movie too much of my time already. If you like a movie that has to use loud noises to get you to jump or to stay awake then this is for you.

A very Good Movie
17 July 2002
I am very surprised at the number of people who can write that the battle scenes seem so fictional and try to compare with Private Ryan or Black Hawk Down or other war movies. Have any of you even been in the military to make such a comment? I have 20+ years (Navy SeaBees and Army Infantry) and feel most of the action was very good. As one reviewer puts "The battle scenes did not show us anything new". Should Wallace had made up unrealistic battles scenes. I think too many of you are wanting the special effects to rule the movie. I will agree that some of the dialogue is "hammed" up but maybe some of you critics should include a better line in your review. My guess is that most critics will be just that, critics but can offer so viable alternative as to what would be better. This section seems to becoming like sports talk radio. Everyone is a critic but few are players or actors.

A GRAND SLAM!
28 April 2002
This is one of the few movies that I have on tape and then also bought on DVD. Very few movies withstand the test of time as this we does and will. I have browsed through the user comments and see that over 95% simply think this is one of the best movies ever and then there are the others who cannot or will not have the courage or imagination to dream. Of course it is hokey, fictional but it is a great story that gets it right about relationships, second chances and just taking a chance. I wonder if the people who really hate this film hate it just to be different, dont like Costner or just really have no emotions about what most people find important in life. It was very nice to see a few comments from our friends in England who also enjoyed this movie realizing that you do not have to know a thing about baseball to get totally involved and sucked into the story about people not realizing how good they really do have it and how Ray Kinsella gets a second chance to make amends with his deceased father. Obviously we will not have this chance in real life but this movie may stir enough emotion in some to try to mend fences before they really do run out of time and not have to live with a person dying before they could take back something they wish they never said.

The Outsiders (1983)
3/10
KAAAARAAAPPPP
3 March 2002
My wife and I recently watched this movie for the first time. I have heard how great The Outsiders was supposed to be and could not believe how awful it really is. I have read many of the comments from other and these people seem to be stuck in their childhood because it was their favorite movie then. Everything was quite predictable, bad acting, and the music score was the worst. (note the credits - a bit of nepotism here) The "big" heroic scene where Ralphie rescues all the kids from the burning church... what the heck were they doing taking a tour of the abandoned church in the first place, how did every entrance get boarded up when our two lovable bad guys came and go as they pleased? Keep this movie rated where it belongs, in the kiddie section, remove some bad words and presto, good kiddie movie but not too good. I give it a 3 of 10.

I like this film.
16 October 2001
I have read many reviews both good and bad about this film and of course there are those who hate and those who love it. I lean towards those who love it. I do think some of the potty jokes went a bit too far but other than that it was truly a funny film with a GREAT sound track! Pete Yorn is great and probably most who did not like this film have never heard of him. One shining quality that comes out in Carrey's character even though he is a mental case it that he never considered letting go of what was most important to him, his kids. Not that this would be a good movie for kids but no matter what he did the right thing unless he was Hank. Carrey played the square dad perfectly and the kids while a bit over the top were portrayed brilliantly by the actors. Why do so many people have trouble laughing? Maybe they should have a drink with Hank and spend a night in a motel with him.

I do not understand what is so great about this movie
24 September 2001
My dislike for this movie could be my bias towards Julia Roberts but I did not believe this to be all that great of a movie. To me, Julia's portrayal of Erin was basically the same character she used in Pretty Woman and another rags to riches story that I am really tired of from MS Roberts. I have a friend who knows Erin Brockovich and Julia did not do her much justice and over played her character in some ways. She did not do everything herself as the movie would have you believe. What is the major difference from this movie and the John Travolta movie A Civil Action? Frankly, his character was a whole lot more enjoyable.

Armageddon (1998)

This is pure entertainment, nothing more
24 September 2001
I have read many of the reviews and some of you really need to relax. Sure this movie had plenty of cliches and a totally unbelievable plot but who cares? I read one so called critic from Sweden on how it was another U.S. cowboy saves the day hero movie or close to it. I happen to like heros willing to sacrifice themselves for a higher cause but then I never really hear about heros from Sweden, France or most European countries. England is a huge exception! I would think that Europeans would be thrilled with American Courage but they obviously have short memories of the sacrifice many American heros made to keep all of them from speaking German.

The rest who did not like this movie to the fact that it bothers them must have a pretty stress free life if this is what they waste their energy on.
