Brilliant......that about sums it up!
27 September 1999
Yes, Fargo is truly a brilliant film. It's kinda Tarantinoish, but, you know the Coen brothers doesn't do the same as others. They are geniuses in filmmaking, with entertaining films with good stories and great actors. And the acting is really one of the strong sides about this film. Steve Buscemi, in my opinion the coolest actor alive, and Peter Stormare is brilliant. Totally exceptional. Frances McDormand is a little over-rated though but does give a good performance. William H. Macy is, as always, good as the car sales-man in money trouble. The film is about Jerry Lundegaard that needs money. His wife's rich father won't give it to him so he plans a scam. He hires two criminals, to kidnap his wife, and ask for a big amount of money to give her back. then her father will have to pay and the criminals will get their share of the money Jerry his. I am not gonna tell more, so I won't ruin the film for you. Joel and Ethan Coen shows how a thriller of this sort should be done with well-developed characters, good dialogue and I have to say it even once again, BRILLIANT actors. Watch it!

Bad acting with exception of Denise Richards in an incredibly stupid but entertaining film!
12 August 1999
Yeah, that about sums it up. The acting in this film is not very good, but it's not the worst I've seen. Casper Van Dien is the one who has most problems with his role, Dina Meyer made an Ok job, but Denise Richards made a good job. I don't quite know what I like about her, but she's got something the others hasn't. The film itself is about the world in a distant future where our worst enemy is killer-bugs, and our best weapon a bunch of bugbashing forces. I mean, the scriptwriter must have smoked some grass when he wrote script. I like the idea of boys and girls showering together though, but I don't think that will happen. The news that comes up quite often is brilliant. really cool with this "Do you want to know more?" s**t always coming up in the end. As you probably have understood I don't think it's a good, but I do think it's an entertaining one. Actually I kinda liked it. A 7 out of 10.

Even more blood-dripping than Dracula.....and better..excellent
5 July 1999
This is the second vampire film I have reviewed, and I like them both. The first one was Dracula, which was a beautiful love story and I liked it very much. In fact I liked it so much I decided to watch another vampire flick. And this was even better, one of the most beautiful films ever made. The blood is floating in the entire film, but that's a part of it, it never gets disgusting. The cast was brilliant. Tom Cruise did his best performance ever as Lestat, he was so cool! Brad Pitt does good job with showing Louis' pain. And Kirsten Dunst gave a stunning performance as Claudia, the little avant-garde evil girl. Antonio Banderas, Stephen Rea and the upcomer Thandie Newton was good in their small roles too. Christian Slater also delivers good performance in a minimal role. I have never seen a better vampire movie, and I doubt that the day will come when I do. 10/10

Strange, very strange, but.....
10 March 1999
How can anyone dislike this film!? It's a true masterpiece by the brilliant director Jim Jarmusch (Mystery train etc.) But it is strange........and, in my opinion, one of the coolest films ever made. Johnny Depp is great in the lead role as "William Blake". I usually don't like Depp, but this role fitted him so perfectly. The other cast is great too (John Hurt is brilliant in a minor role ). The humor is so dark that some people may not get it, but if you do, I bet you're gonna get some laughs. The film is black/white, which suits it perfectly, and on top, it's completely flawless!! I have three words: Go see it! 10 out of 10

Cool actors, but the film drowns in braindead violence
24 January 1999
This film's actors are the coolest of the coolest. I am talking about Larenz Tate, Chris Tucker and N'Bushe Wright! But this film kills it self...... I usually don't turn films off because of the violence, but this was, well YACK!

Yooohh!

This must be the absolute crime/film-noir movie
15 January 1999
This is one of the best films I have ever seen! Brilliant performances, script and directing makes this film a modern classic. I particularly liked Gabriel Byrne, a stunning performance, and Kevin Spacey. Both of them is on the list of my favorite actors.Bryan Singer is one hell of a director! I look forward to the day his new film " Apt Pupil" is released here in Tønsberg. I don't bother to tell you what it is about. It would destroy a part of the feeling when you watch it. My highest recommendations! 10 out of 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of fun and good acting. When I saw this film I didn't have anything to do, so I sat down, switched on TV1000 and began to watch this film. Another cheap comedy I thought, but damn I were wrong. Many of the best swedish actors appeared on the screen,

for example Peter Haber and Lennart Jæhkel. Both were great! The film was too. I have one thing to say to you: Go see it!

Kinda sweet
8 January 1999
I expected this to be a violent and sexy movie, and at the beginning it was.For example the scenes with Charlize Theron and James Spader, but then Dosmo (Danny Aiello) take hostages and believe it or not, the film becomes sweet, and you get kind of happy when you watch. To be true I really like films where the criminals have a good side to them, like Dosmo. In the end, the film once again become exciting and cool. The film was very good and the performances were great(especially James Spader)! Go see this exciting, and sweet film. I think you will like it!

AWFUL
3 January 1999
Arguably the worst movie ever made. It really just is a PR-stunt by the Spice Girls. The only bright thing(s) about this film must be two of the actors, named Roger Moore and Richard E. Grant.I don't quite see the point in this film. Strangely, even though they are Spice-fans, my sisters loved it. They're just 8 and 6, but anyway..... I won't even bother to start to write what the film was about, because, in my opinion, the film wasn't about anything. THIS FILM SUCKED! 1/10 NBK

Great film
3 January 1999
I really didn't want to rent this film, but one of my friends, PA(nick-name)who was a big fan of Tupac Shakur talked me into it. I am glad he did, because this was one of the best films of 1998. James Belushi was great in this film, and so was Shakur and Lela Rochon. James Earl Jones appears in a little role in the last 40 minutes of the film.He was great, too. However, the film is about two corrupt cops who sell drugs, then they kill

the buyer and steal the drugs and everything else of value on him. It had worked 10 times. But unfortunately the 11th time(The one we saw) goes wrong. The buyer was a undercover-cop and they has been set to do the investigation. Now the film really starts. The two cops now start looking for someone to blame, and a

homeless man named Tom looks like an easy target. The rest you can see for yourself. You really should. The movie is Great

I gave it 9/10!

Not like expected
3 January 1999
I rented this movie to see ACTION. But what a surprise I got! This was no cheap actionflick. It actually had a good PLOT. Of course, there was action, but the movie was more like a

drama. Don't get me wrong, the movie is exciting, has some good action and it's good entertainment. But on top of that it has a good plot. The acting was great, too. Gary Sinise in his best

role since Forrest Gump (sadly he destroyed it in Snake Eyes) and Mel Gibson in top form.Rene Russo was good, too. All in all: A REALLY GOOD FILM!

Buscemi rules
2 January 1999
When I saw this movie in the cinema some time ago I didn't have high expectations. The critics hated the film. Frankly, I don't understand why. This film is pure entertainment, and you can't take it too seriously. You know the story(Deep Impact), so I will skip that part. But I will comment the actors:They were great! All of them! But as usually I liked Steve Buscemi the most. He is one of few actors that can constantly make me laugh. But he isn't just funny, he is also a great actor. This was great fun and I gave the film 8 out of 10.

Great director, Superb movie
2 January 1999
I wasn't quite sure of this film when I rented it, but it was absolutely worth it. It is so claustrophobic, and you really understand Penn's character. This is a superb film made by one of the best directors ever! In short: Go see it!

GREAT
2 January 1999
This is a really funny film if you like dark humour. It is pretty violent, but if you don't think about that you will love it! The frustration that Nalle (Peter Habers character) displays is outrageously funny. I really just have one word for this

film: GREAT!

Steve Buscemi -Simply the best
2 January 1999
I knew that I loved Buscemi before watching the film, I didn't know that I loved Stormare before watching the film and I didn't know that I loved McDormand before watching the film. And William H. Macy was great too. In short: The actors/actresses is reason enough to see the film
