Moulin Rouge! (2001)
10/10
An oprea a 14 year old could love?
29 June 2001
Moulin Rouge is a great film, and one of the best this year. It's clashes everything great together and makes an amazing and NEW film. Moulin Rouge is an OPERA, a MUSICAL, a COMEDY, a DRAMA, oh let the list roll on and on and on. Moulin Rouge, it is my guess, will destroy the almost perfect Rocky Horror Picture Show, and bring something new to the midnight people. If not, oh well. If this movie doesn't get noticed for some award somewhere than there is no hope for mankind. I hate calling this a "movie", I think it's a film, because a film means something and isn't just slapped together in one night. This is ART, this is everything ART should be. My mind is so full of greatness from this film I'm having a very hard time writing about it.

SEE THIS MOVIE, THEN SEE IT AGAIN (because you'll want to), then write to God or whatever corp. is owning the theater, and beg them to make something like this every year. AHHHHHHHHH. (****) -J.Leonard Rollins-

Magnolia (1999)
10/10
I accept this movie.
29 June 2001
This movie is about accepting things, that things happen and you are here. All you do is witness, sometimes react to the things that happen. Magnolia is one of the greatest films ever made. Since out on DVD I have watched Magnolia ABOUT once a month. I am always excited to see it again. I have bought the script and read it a billion times, (along with highlighting parts and making a chart of the film). I never know that three hours pass when I'm seeing Magnolia, I only know that it's a poem, a painting, and a song rolled up into a FILM. I love this film, and I will watch it in a few weeks and still love it. Thank you P.T. Anderson, THANK YOU. (***** out of ****) THANKS-J.Leonard Rollins-

Terror Firmer (1999)
10/10
God save the......God!
29 June 2001
Although I like Steven Spielberg, I don't like the giants he works for, and I don't like corperations owning all of filmdome. That is why TROMA is the best and (I hate to say it), most intelligent movie company running. They have to be. It's amazing that they're still up, not even ROGER CORMAN could survive the great fall of INDIE. What people label "INDIE" today makes me sick. Anything that looks cheap is "INDIE" Well *uc* that. TROMA is it, the last of it all. And Terror Firmer actually beats Tromeo and Juliet has Troma's best movie. When I saw Tromeo and Juliet I knew that Lloyd Kauffman had mastered his craft, but now I see he's creating things to boot. THERE IS GOOD ACTING, no GREAT ACTING IN THIS FILM. And some sound effects make the movie a little dumb, but everything else is great. Even the musical score adds to some laughs for me. After seeing previews for TOXIC AVENGER 4, I don't think Terror Firmer is going to last long on the list. (****) -J.Leonard Rollins-

Mission to ....
16 March 2000
I must admit, when I saw this film I knew from the very first scene to ignore the characters, I knew they would all be sappy and unreal. So on that note I watched this MOVIE (not film) knowing that Tim's neckless would end up in Gary's hands. Why is it that every film has to be religous, even one with EVOLUTION in it? Why? The characters are so poorly done in this movie that it made the characters in Armageddon look like real actors. I give this film a 6 out of ten, because I did like the effects and the sound, and the death scenes.

Happiness (1998)

A Classic
16 March 2000
This is by far the best movie ever made! This does what movies are suppose to do, it takes you to a place you've never been, ever! I don't care if you have one of the many problems each character has, there is no way you have them all. This film and Fargo stand out because the characters are so uncanny with the realism. This story is about so much more than it seems, this is the REAL American Beauty! This movie is nothing in the eyes of the mass now, but in twenty years will go down has one of the greatest films of all time. Todd really knows what the real human would do. Great film! Great!

Stigmata (1999)
1/10
I read a book so I'll make a film?
16 March 2000
Stigmata left me feeling so bored, while the effects are great, the movie is nothing. Who ever wrote this must have just learned what Stigmata meant, so they felt like making a movie based on what they learned. This movie is only for the dim who believe in god anyhow! And the characters are so dumb, I mean there is a scene where Patrica is sitting in a club with her friend - WHO SAW HER STIGMATAING - and her friend says,"You're losing it!" What did she think was going to happen? Oh, maybe I should tell you why she said that, she said you're losing it because Patrica said she might believe in god! Why is it that all movies make a nonbeliever out to be so dark and dumb? This was a poor film, and I'm sorry if anybody liked it.

Is it a classic?
25 March 1999
A film that wasn't very good on it's own, but when you look at the fact that it came from some of the best (and now) classic trading cards, you have to wonder, can the movies called a CLASSIC? It's not that bad of a film, it's just not that great. Well I'm boring you sorry I'll shut-up!

On a scale of one to ten this film gets the classic 7!

Hail Mary (1985)

WOW! If this film doesn't blow you away, nothing will!
18 February 1999
I found a copy of this film for three bucks, I figured that was a great deal, even if it is in a different language (lucky for me there were subtitles)! When this film came out in the mid eighties it was all about controversy. Many people called the film Blasphemy, so what if it is, you don't have to watch it. But with all that aside, anyone who doesn't spend every night talking to a god, will proudly see this film for what it is, and was. AN AMAZING FILM, a classical TRIUMPH! If anyone can track down a copy of this at least TRY to watch it!

On a scale of ONE to TEN, HAIL MARY gets a TEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are the Ghoulies?
17 February 1999
The only good thing about this film is they managed to tie it with Part one! But other than that it was one of the worst films ever! The only time you see the Ghoulies is in a flashback (and the flashback is just clips from Part one)! A must NOT see! On a One to Ten, "Ghoulies 4" gets a One!

The Birds II: Land's End (1994 TV Movie)

As Worse As it Gets!
17 February 1999
Alright, we can see the director wasn't expecting anything, because he used the infamous alias of Allan Smithee, so he probably made this film for a paycheck. But what a waste, if I had all the equipment he did, I would basically say to forget the script, and make it good, anybody could have done this. Besides with the film Beaks already made, did we really need to see a sequel to "The Birds"?

On a scale of 1 to 10, "Birds II" gets a 1! ( I wish we could vote zero)!

Great Film.
17 February 1999
This just has to be one of the funniest films ever, and nobody ever talks about it. I was lucky to have stayed up one night and had Showtime on, and this film was on. When I saw the Raimi family had something to do with this film, I knew I had better watch it, and I did. Now I own it and watch it all the time. This is a great film. On a scale of 1 to 10 this is a rare but well needed 10!

Here's a mixed message.
17 February 1999
Would someone explain to me when the Ghoulies learned to speak? This was a horrible film, I loved "Ghoulies" and "Ghoulies 2", but what's this? Unless you want to kill yourself, please stay away from "Ghoulies 3". On a scale of 1 to 10, "Ghoulies 3" gets a 1!!

Wait what? Is this a sequel what?
17 February 1999
Okay, I'm glad the only thing that this and the first film have in common is they both have scenes with REALLY REALLY REALLY religious people. While this one is a little better than the CURSE it is not a great film, it should have been titled something else, maybe then I could enjoy it more. Maybe just The Bite, or do that Hollywood thing and put THE BYTE! But then people may think it's about a computer!

On a scale of ONE to TEN the CURSE II:THE BITE gets a 5! Because it's the sequel of the movie with the guy from Stand By Me in it!

Is it just another slasher basher?
17 February 1999
This film comes off as another slaher basher, but I believe there is more there. It can easily be written off as just another horror movie, but would you say the same about Halloween or A Nightmare On Elm Street? No, because they are classics. While maybe this film shouldn't be titled a classic, it really should get a second look.

When I first saw this film I hated it. I even fell asleep during it, but then I watched it again and noticed that there was more there. You really have to see it for yourself, if you can't stand watching the film the first time, it's because your not watching the film.

On a scale of 1 to 10 "Dolls" gets an 8, because it's really not that bad!

I would rather go to the dentist than watch this film again!
17 February 1999
Maybe I wouldn't rather go to the dentist, but this film still isn't very good. Nothing about will shock you like it wants to, after the first victim is swallowed by the CURSE, you'll know every line, every plot point, everything that's going to happen. Whoever wrote this must have just watched about a million old cheesey horror films. Not worth the celluliod it was made on.

On a scale of ONE to TEN, THE CURSE gets a 3, because the guy from Stand by Me is in it!

Ghoulies forever!
17 February 1999
Who ever doesn't like the original GHOULIES, is no friend of mine. GHOULIES is a classic (I say that a lot)! It amazes me how this film was so good, and then all of its sequels were just stupid and pointless. (Maybe GHOULIES II was okay!)

Rent or buy this film, but NEVER EVER EVER watch ANY of the sequels, maybe part 2, BUT NEVER WATCH THE OTHER TWO!!!!! SAVE YOURSELF!!!!!! On a scale of ONE to TEN, GHOULIES gets an 8!

Could have been made by the Zucker Brothers!
15 February 1999
"Curse of the Queerwolf", the title alone should set you up for one of the funniest films of all time. Even though it wasn't, "Curse of the Queerwolf" could have very well been made by the same chaps who brought us "Airplane", "The Naked Gun", and all of those classics.

Most people won't like this film due to the fact that it was made on such a low budget, but if they would take the time to watch it, they will see what they're missing.

One of the things that makes this film so great is the only way one can kill a queerwolf. They never SHOW this, but you know what's going on.

Anyone who can watch this without laughing is probably a serial killer.

A film I wish I could have the brains to write. Out of 1-10 "Curse of the Queerwolf" gets a 10! A must see!

Private Parts (1972)
Bizarre? Or ahead of its time?
14 February 1999
A great film, but don't expect Paul Bartel's comedy that you've seen in Lust in the Dust and Eating Raoul. While the humor is there it isn't has strong. If you go into this film not knowing what you're about to get (which few do), then you will love it.

A film that is by far ahead of it's time, it brings on issues not dealt with until Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, and The Crying Game. This was Paul Bartel's second film to direct, and you wouldn't know that by watching it.

A classic that is way ahead of it's time. On a scale of 1 to 10, Private Parts gets a 10!

I don't care what anyone says, John Wayne wrote this!
12 February 1999
By far one of the funniest films ever. Personally I hate westerns, so it's odd that this film is one of my favorites. The song Divine sings at the begining of the film should be played on MTV or something. I don't want to give away anything about this film, let me just say, if you've seen EATING ROAUL, and you liked it, get this film. 1-10, Lust in the Dust gets a 9!

Waitress! (1982)

A Hidden Classic in the World of Film
11 February 1999
If you've seen Troma's The Toxic Avenger, then you can get ready for Waitress. While it's not the horror movie Toxic was, its humor is matched 100 percent by Toxic.

Corny like a Sunday, Waitress is still one of my favorite films. It's VERY funny, most people are scared to say that this film is good, because they're afraid people will think they are dumb, well I have an above average IQ, a building full of friends and a sweet life, and I say Waitress is good.

On a scale of 1 to 10, Waitress gets a 9!

One of the worst films ever!
10 February 1999
I don't know how this movie could have been made! It has to be one of the worst films ever, the only thing that saves the film is the fact that all the characters are HOT, and if they're not HOT, they are for sure more attractive than the average person.

The plot has been done a billion times, from anything like Invasion of the Body Snatchers to Village of the Damned!

And the ending is only something to take the time to watch if you need to vomit, even the alternate ending is bad.

The characters are very dry, the plot is over done, and the acting is very 90210ish.

Out of One to Ten, this film gets a two. I would only rent it if you are having a party and hanging out with a bunch of friends, where you won't be playing much attention to the film.

Awesome film!
10 February 1999
This film tells the simple story of Frances Fishpaw, if I spelled that right. It's a great film, and the last of Waters' films to have Eddie Massey in it.

After watching this film you think to yourself, "This is what Shakepeare would write if he was still alive and had a low budget!" Well, except for the part about Shakespeare.

A CLASSIC!!!!!!!

A MUST SEE!!!!!!

On John Water's Scale of One(Diane Linketter Story) to 10 (Female Trouble) this dilm gets an 8!

A classic hidden away from all.
10 February 1999
Pure mystery, you never know what's next in this film. In fact I'm going to keep silent about everything I know, because if you know anything about this film before you see it, it's just not as good.

Once you start the climax filled beginning of this film you just can't move away. It was co-written by the man who co-wrote Tod Browning's Freaks. I swear if you take the 70 + minutes to watch this film, your life will never be the same.

On a scale of one to ten, this film gets an EIGHT! A classic, a MUST see!

The Tune (1992)
10/10
One of the best animated films ever!
8 February 1999
This films belongs in some kind of hall of fame place, because nothing about this film is bad.

It tells the story of a man who needs to write the perfect song, if he doesn't he looses his job, his girl, and his life. Okay well maybe not his life. Then out of nowhere he ends up in the land of Floobie Noobie where he meets a lot of weird and off the wall people.

This film has some GREAT songs in it. I really love the song about HOME. This film is great, and I say get it! Do NOT just rent this film, buy it!

Between 1-10, this film gets a "9.9", (because what film is perfect?)
