Legionnaire (1998)
A surprisingly good, and different Van Damm film.
Most Jean Claude Van Damm films consist of a martial arts contest of which he must over come great odds to win (Lion Heart, Kickboxer, etc). This film only has one hand to hand fight scene at the beginning, and the rest is a film about the French Foriegn Legion. A must see for any fans of military history as it is actually quite accurate to the times.
Ngo si seoi (1998)
The best Jackie Chan film you never saw
Though Ngo Hai Sui (Who am I?) was not a major release like Rush Hour or Rumble in The Bronx (Vancouver), this has to be one of the best action movies I have ever seen hands-down. From the wilds of the African savana, to the streets of Brussels, Jackie has lost his memory and fights (literally) to find his identity and to uncover a terrorist plot. The script is as funny as any of Jackies movies that I have ever seen, and the fight choreography is at the top of the field. Near the end there is a fight on top of a skyscraper that has to be the BEST fight I have ever seen in a film, the skill of the performers is unbelievable. No movie would be complete withou t the thrill of a car chase, and Ngo Hai Sui does not let the viewer down. I have not seen driving of this caliber in any recent American films. To all fans of action films, or those who like a good fun movie, I strongly reccomend going down to your local video store and renting Ngo Hai Sui (Who am I?). The master of martial arts films, Jackie Chan, has another great film to his credit.
Titanic (1997)
How can a movie be so popular with THAT dialogue?
I felt this film had some neat effects, but not worth the price of the ticket. The acting was weak, and the dialogue was horrible. If you haven't seen it yet, you were probably correct to not want to.
