Sons and Daughters (1982)
What some actors will do to work!
This show was 'semi believable' at the start. But the story lines became so outrageous that it was an insult to even the chronic soapie viewer! At least some actors used their money wisely from this series - good on you Judy Nunn!

Prisoner (1979)
Great series, but...
This was without doubt a fine Australian drama with some of the country's best talents including Fiona Spence, Valerie Lehman, Sheila Florence, Maggie Kirkpatrick and Carol Skinner to name a few.
But I have to say sorry guys - this was nothing like a real women's prison! However, it was nice to escape reality and watch it each week. I viewed the show from day one, right to the tragic end.
('KIRK' if you ever read this - you've got to stop having red wine for breakfast...it will get you in the end)
Congratulations to Kim Hann from Equity for her patience with all the actors who call her about residuals.

Coronation Street (1960)
The greatest soap to lose its lather
This series is without doubt a legend. It's sad however to see how it has 'progressed' into the 90's. It has lost its spark. There was a time when I would never miss an episode, nowadays I don't care one way or the other. The good old days of 'The Street' are now history. The actress who ruined the series (simply by leaving it) was Julie Goodyear alias 'Bette Gilroy' who obviously got tired of it as well. My advice to Granada Television - axe the show and play the repeats from day 1!!

Excellent Film
What an excellent movie. The acting, writing, costumes to name but a few things were fantastic. Interesting to note that Alison Barrett who did the casting is still around and has many fine casting credits up her sleeve including "Pricilla Queen of the Desert" and "Muriels Wedding". Some of the children who starred in the film have managed to continue with their acting careers - BEN OXENBOULD, REBECCA RIGG and BRYAN WISEMAN...keep your eye out for these talented professionals! Although it's a pity we haven't seen more films directed by Maurice Murphy. He's a fine director.
All the Way (1999)
Fairly Good
Considering this film was made on a shoe string budget and the fact that this was Marque Owen's directing and producing debut, the end result wasn't bad. The film included a very talented cast and deserves a look! Congratulations to Bryan Wiseman (Miss Willis) who endured 2 hours of latex make-up for every shoot....then had to tolerate working in extreme summer temperatures...now he's working in Hollywood!
