Night of Dark Shadows (1971)
o.k ghost story
followup to house of dark shadows is not as good as that film only because director Dan Curtis was forced to cut film to 90 min.this made the story harder to figure out, also many actors from the first movie are in this playing different roles,so it is not a sequel, but an entirely different movie with no vampires in sight.instead we have more of a love story between the two leads, played by David Selby and in her first motion picture Kate Jackson, who move into the same house as seen in the previous film and a ghost from the past starts to take control of their lives.again excellent use is made of the Lyndhurst estate in Tarrytown New York where it was filmed.
House of Dark Shadows (1970)
a great horror film!
a must see film if you like scary movies,as this is one of the best vampire films ever made.being a motion picture a lot more blood is shown than the t.v soap could show.the vampire barnabas collins is more evil than the one portrayed in the soap opera.excellent use of locations in Tarrytown New York, including the Lyndhurst estate.music composer Robert Cobert's score very effective,as he has scored most of director Dan Curtis other films.
Death Wish 3 (1985)
2nd best of series
watching this movie you would never know that it was filmed in England, instead of New York where it is set. the film does have some great scenes of charlie blasting the "creeps". lets face it though these guys could have taken out Kersey at any time, still well worth a look if you like action movies.
Starsky and Hutch: Pilot (1975)
good whodunnit
this is the pilot for the t.v series Starsky and Hutch. it has a great story as the detectives search for the two hit men hired to kill them. best line in movie has Starsky asking Hutch "who are we suposed to trust?" Hutch replies "me and thee".these two guys really care about each other, which is what made the following series so great.
