Memento (2000)
Completely disappointing!
I watched this film based on its number ten ranking. I will never make that mistake again! I cannot believe that so many people have been taken in by a movie that is based on nothing more than a gimmick. There is not a single character in this film that I give a damn about, one way or another. P. T. Barnum said, years ago, that a sucker is born every minute. The number ten ranking of this movie proves that nothing has changed.
Spider-Man (2002)
Pathetic money grab
This movie had lousy dialog, a lousy story line, a lousy villain with no depth whatsoever, and was designed from start to finish to relieve the public of their money. The movie was more like a pilot for a TV show, and was an obvious setup for sequels to come.
Finding Forrester (2000)
A great story well told
This was a great screen play, for a change, and it was carried out beautifully by the cast. They managed to avoid most of the usual cliches, and even though the outcome was somewhat predictable, it was still refreshing and entertaining. This was a well-crafted movie.
Pay It Forward (2000)
Could have been a great movie
The premise for this movie was intriguing, but the execution was pretty bad. The only good story line in this film was the scenes with the drug addict. Otherwise, this film seemed designed to do nothing more than to yank our chain at the appropriate spots. I walked away feeling used and manipulated.
True Crime (1999)
Well constructed movie
This movie had a great script and Eastwood paid close attention to details. I could not find any holes in the plot and the story line seemed quite believable. Eastwood over did it a bit with the women. It seemed every woman in the movie, young and old wanted to jump in bed with him. The ending, though predictable was well done.
Wild Wild West (1999)
Pathetic movie
I was a great fan of the TV show and eagerly looked forward to this movie. What a disapointment. This movie had no story, no character developement, and meaningless special effects. What a waste of talented actors.
12 Angry Men (1957)
My favorite movie of all time
The actors are perfect. The pace of the movie is perfect. The dialogue is perfect. The setting is perfect.
As you can see I loved this movie. It is in black and white and this also adds to this movie, since this movie is about black and white turning to gray. This movie is timeless and priceless and is the only movie that I have been compelled to purchase.
