I'll Show You the Town (1925)
A repressed professor learns life is for living - thanks to alcohol and three dates on the same night.
What a pleasant surprise! One of the funniest pictures I've ever seen. Charming and hilarious throughout. Who knew that Reginald Denny, who was so good at playing pompous stiffs in his later pictures, was so funny. An absolutely marvelous picture with no visible flaws. Nothing but belly-laughs from beginning to end.
Why Worry? (1923)
Lloyd At His Best
The funniest of all his pictures, and that's saying something. 60 minutes of perfect gags with no letup. John Aasen as Colosso the giant is wonderful, and any picture with the wonderful Jobyna Ralston is always welcome.
Being John Malkovich (1999)
Beyond awful
One of the most pretentious and irritating movies I ever hope to see. I hated every frame. I can't think of enough bad things to say about it. I want those two hours of my life back, and I want them now! Avoid at all costs. Cameron Diaz is the perfect actress for this film, as she's as lovely as she is talented. Not even worth melting down for the silver content.
