Scary Movie (2000)
Needed to be NC-17!!!!!!
I saw this movie with my fiance'. We laughed and i did think it was funny...Tasteless but funny. What I didn't think was funny was all of the children under the age of 13 whose parents had actually brought them to see this film. Come on people read up on a film before you take your children to it. And they wonder why their kids get in to drugs and teenage sex and pregnancy.
Some movies are just not for children.
X-Men (2000)
Absolutely can't wait for a sequel!!!!!!
I started reading the X-Men a long time ago along with the counterpart X-Factor. I just have to say that I thought this movie was THE best "based on a comic series ever done" It was definitely well worth the wait.
Although I think that perhaps Katie Holmes would have been a wonderful choice to play Rogue. I did like Anna Paquin's performance. But the character I totally loved and can not for the life of me get out of my head is Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
As soon as he came on the screen I was entranced with him. He just had a way about him and how he played Logan that I would never have anticipated. I'll admit that I wasn't always a fan of Wolverine in the comics. But Jackmans portrayal has shed a completely different light on Wolvie. I think he was a great choice for the role.
The other actor I have to praise would be Halle Berry as Storm. I've never really like Berry in anything else I have seen her in , but I really liked her as Storm.
I too laughed my ass off when Ray Park did his Darth Maul move at the elevator.I also cracked up at the yellow spandex joke.
The only bad thing I have to say about this movie is that the casting of Janssen and Marsden was kind of mismatched. She looks too much older than him.
Back when this movie was still a rumor I can remember thinking that the perfect choice for Xavier had to Stewart. I am pleased to say that I was not disappointed at all.
I completely recommend this film to all who are fans of the comic as well as those who have never even read it. All in all I would have to give it a rating of 15 out 10.
Bicentennial Man (1999)
I Absolutely loved this movie.
I rented this movie over the past weekend, and I will have to say that I loved this movie. So much so that I wouldn't get up and have a cigarette, which rarely happens usually pause a movie and take a break. Anyhow I thought that Williams' Character was one that made me feel for him. I also liked Oliver Platt in this film as well, although there isn't much I don't like Platt in.
Mission: Impossible II (2000)
Seems people today are way too critical.
Are people today so unhappy that they can't go to a good movie with a lot of action and to gorgeous leading men and having nothing but bad things to say?
Well I am not one of those people. I go to the movies to enjoy the hard work that the cast and crew put into their films. This is one of those such films. I will openly admit that I have not liked all of the films that Tom Cruise has done. To be honest I wanted to see Shanghai Noon the day I saw MI:2. But as soon as I sat down and the movie started I was quickly on the edge of my seat. For I will have to say that this is definitely the best Movie I have ever seen Cruise in.
I thought this one was much better than the first. I thought the first one was a little too dark and gloomy. I actually found myself not able to take my eyes off of Cruise and Scott. This is only the second film I have seen Scott in. The first being Ever After. I really liked Scott as the "bad' guy in this film. And the movie was never really lacking for action.
All in all I would definitely have to give this film a 10!
Way to go Tom Cruise!
The Breakfast Club (1985)
My all time favorite 80's movie!!!!!
I grew up in the 80's and lived by John Hughes movies. I love all of the films he has made. This one being my all time favorite.
I knew kids just like these in my high school. I think I hung out with the Judd Nelson type.
The first time I saw this movie was when i was about 12. I didn't understand all of the dialogue. But loved it anyway. Me and my friends were in love with Judd Nelson right away. I wanted to be Molly Ringwald so badly back then. As I got older I understood the dialogue much better and got all of the jokes. Also as I grew older I still Had the thing for Judd Nelson.
Anyway I think this movie works well in the 80's and 90's and I am sure my son will love it when he is a teenager.
Legend of the Mummy (1998)
Very Unimpressed by this movie.
Not to make myself out to be conceited, but I think of myself as a Film Connoisseur. I am also a fan of Louis Gosset Jr. Anyhow I believe this script does not do him any justice. As far as Amy Locane goes. The only movie i found her remotely good in was airheads. I would only recommend this film to anyone who has those Summer Repeat blues and there is nothing else on.
