Can see why this was released in two parts
29 October 2003
First off let me say that I wasn't too sold on this movie from the previews. I was really hoping the that trailers was a huge bad hollywood joke from tarentino cause these scenes from the trailers look like a filme that is featured in a film about hollywood. However, I still saw it cause it's tarentino...It's gots to be good. But I feel, after seeing this film that poor Q.T. had seen Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon one too many times and thought "I can do that with an anime twist to it".

And that brings me to the title of this less than glowing review. SOme of the most popular Anime titles (Akira, Ghost in the Shell) are ultra violent. Blood is spewed like a geyser, limbs are cut off, and fights are higly choreographed. Kill Bill is like a Live Action Anime. And the gore is a plenty. I have a feeling that QT was told by Miramax to tone it down a bit. HEnse the big fight scene with Uma and 80 Samuri's is in Black and white and why this film is in Two parts. If it wasn't in two parts this film would have recieved an NC-17 and no theatre would show it. THis is a very violent picture. I got turned off by the violence and one of my favorite films is A Clockwork Orange. Quinten, from a fan, please try to make you next films violence toned down to a Pulp fiction level.

Warning: Parental Advisory (2002 TV Movie)

Wonderful refresher course on The PMRC For Those who Forgotten
21 April 2002
After just watching this VH1 Movie that rocked, I must say that It was pretty good. In Fact It's the best movie that VH1 produced...of course that's not saing much. Of course there are some set backs. Frank Zappa is Portrayed as this Guru and the actor that played him was not very good and the congressional hearings could have been a little longer (The transcripts had some great questions after All the prepared speeches between the Witnesses and the seneate comittee) But this is a really fine movie for what it is.

It will be compared to Rocky Horror
15 December 2001
After just seeing this film, I am totally amazed and surprised. Amazed that they got away with such neat visuals on such a tight budget and Surprised that this is the second new musical I enjoyed this year.

In the mid-90's with the success of Adventrues of Pricilla queen of the Desert, We had a onslaught of mainsteam gay movies (including Too Wong Foo and Will and GRace) wich steryotyped the gay lifestyle.

Thankfully there is now Hedewig and the amazing Inch. a truly wonderous movie with life and electricity abound. Gorous imagery and wonderful songs with a actual story.

In the title of my review I mentioned that the film will be compared to Rocky horror. That is because it is the only other Glam Rock musical to be made in a movie that orginally came from off broadway. Now there's two. My dears, If Hedewig took Rocky Horrors place, as the new Midnight movie for the next twenty years, that will be fine by me.

Star Wars (1983 Video Game)
10/10
The most fun Video Game you'll ever play.
30 April 2001
There are times when you look back at certain video games and say that it was the cheesiest game that ever came out on the market. Then there's one that would never leave you alone.

For me that game is STar WArs.

Yes it's simple 8-bit graphics and mono sound are out dated by today's Playstation 2, Nintendo 64 and Sega Dreamcast. BUt none of those games for any of those sytems can even match the excitement of going down that trench and blowing up the death star.

You can still find this game around in some places collecting dust next to the janitorial supplies closet. If and when you do find it, play it. It's only a quarter but it would be the best quarter that you've ever spent.

Braindead (1992)
Any Fan Of the Evil Dead Trilogy Will Love it
19 October 2000
I must say that I knew what to expect from this film. Peter Jackson, who also directed the puppet classic "Meet the Feebles", has always been known for his all out gore fests but this really takes the cake. If it's not grossing you out, you are laughing your head off. (the Divine intervention scene is a new classic). Some scenes do remind you of the Evil Dead trilogy. Especially when our hero is left alone in the house to fend off zombies by himself. However evil dead is just inspiratiion and that's all. If you liked Evil Dead and you want more hilarious zzombies then check out Dead-Alive. You won't be disappointed

A breath of fresh air from the cookie cutter
22 May 2000
I must say that i am not a fan of disney movies. They seem so cookie cutter-Fairy tale, good over evil, six r seven horrible songs from over paid composers, and wrap it up in less than nintey minutes. This was their exception, a trying of new things, like walt set out to do in the first place. The story is wonderful, the animation is out of this world, and the comic relief commits suicide in the end!!!! that's the best part!!! The cuts fuzzy cuddly Gurgi Comits suicide to save his friends!!!! It's great!!! I must admit the hero at times reminded me of Davy jones from the Monkees but that's alright. I'm a fan of Head also

Tenacious D (1997–2000)
Greatest comedy series HBO ever put on
7 April 2000
I loved this show since it premiered. I only wish that HBO still showed it. The songs were funny and the entire half hour just went by like nothing. (Which is hard for me to say since I don't like television). I wish that They put out a C.D. or release the show on DVD so that I could enjoy it over and over again.
