Bulletproof (1987)
Tanks, Helicopters, Mexicans.
This film quite literally has every single action movie cliche and all of them work to its advantage. Straight from Lethal Weapon Gary Busey wisecracks, shoots and chuckles through this film with such reckless abandonment it can't help but amuse and entertain. There are tanks, helicopters, machine gun battles, grenades and ice cream vans and if they aren't good enough reasons to watch this film then how about the best one...Danny Trejo. And if you don't know who Danny Trejo is then you probably won't like this film.
Drive (1997)
One of the best transitions from Hong Kong to America.
For some reason the retailers and rental companies in England seem to have completely ignored this masterpiece of martial arts /action/comedy. The simple fact is that you cannot see this film anywhere unless you make a special effort. Marc Dacascos is a well trained and practiced expert in martial arts and in "Drive" he gets to show off his skills which are usually overlooked in other films. Also a perfect pairing with Kadeem Hardison provides him with the chance to reveal a previously unseen comedy talent. For buddy buddy action comedy with a serious dose of people getting messed up then you can do no better
